This is NOT a "war". It is an "occupation" that will end the same way as when the Russians attempted to occupy Afghanistan. (This is where our buddy, "freedom fighter" Osama made his mark.)

Anyone approving of going to war on a basis of lies by the president, or approving the continuation of it, or thinking that the president and congress are doing the right thing by continuing it, is either a sociopathic ***, or still brainwashed by the lies that got us there in the first place. Here are better poll questions;
1. Should the president be allowed to lie to start a war?
2. If not, what should be the appropriate sanction when one does?
3. Are you aware of the constitutional requirements and procedures for the legal declaration of war?
I think the results of these polls will explain to a large degree the remainder of those still in agreement with Bushco and US involvement in an illegal invasion of a sovereign state

As with all things a Republican far right wing Conservative never can learn from its mistakes. Oh for the days of the Republicans who could think for themselves.

Congress's low ratings are pointed to with glee by Republicans - but Congress is still full of Republicans ! That's why nothing good is being done, and that's why we're stuck in this terrible war. The same Republicans who brought you this war in the first place undercut and hamstring every effort to get our troops out. They still think owning Iraq and running it as America's personal gas station is a good idea. So don't blame the Democrats if they can't overcome a beligerent Republican backbench. It took years to eliminate the same die hard Viet Nam war supporters, who were just as blind.
