Since comparing Republicans vs. Democrats is an argument which never goes anywhere,
let%u2019s instead compare Democrat vs. Democrat..%u2026
let%u2019s say Clinton(s) vs. J.F. Kennedy.

The Clintons and current Democrat philosophy on governing/government is:

%u201CBig Government will provide for you%u201D, &
%u201CFrom cradle to grave, Big Government will take care of you%u201D, &
%u201CIt takes a Village%u201D (Big Government)

Whereas J.F. Kennedy said :
%u201CAsk NOT what your country can do for you, but rather what YOU can do for your country%u201D

These two philosophies (both democrat) are completely opposite of each other.

I would much rather be a J.F. Kennedy democrat than a Clinton democrat.

J.F. Kennedy also instituted tax cuts on the top rates to spur a sluggish economy. (hmmmm%u2026%u2026.sounding familiar)

Sounds like the NeoCommies and MoveOn.org have hijacked a democrat party that I once knew and respected.

But I%u2019m not a republican, so what%u2019s an average American supposed to do ??

A statement like this says more about your own character than it does about the democrats, or any other party for that matter.

Your words and actions reflect the kind of person you are and people simply consider the source and judge your words/actions accordingly.

If you want to be afforded credibility and respect you will have to earn it.

Well, I'm not sure how you can make a judgement on my character based on the VERY TRUTHFUL statement I made. If you think about it you'll realize that my statement is true. Democrats don't respect the principles that this great nation was founded on all they do is complain about them. For instance, religion ( democrats criticize those who have one) , laws ( they always find ways around them or try to change them), freedoms ( dems take advantage of them), believe in giving handouts (welfare) instead of promoting a good work ethic... I could go on and on. Making judgements on peoples character is all you libs are capable of.

billysmith6 - what are you talking about!? NYC is the blue-est place in the US (outside Boston and San Francisco) - Hillary won there in a landslide in 2000 and 2006, and John Kerry swept NYC by a mile in 2004 - how does polling in NYC represent bias or manipulation TOWARDS Republicans!? Quit smoking whatever you're smoking at your MoveOn.org rallies and quit posting ridiculous conspiracy theories...all you've proven if those theories were true is that the GOP's top strategist is so much smarter than all the Democrats that he could manipulate your entire base to vote for who HE wanted to be the Dem nominee in 2004? I don't think so, and don't think many of your fellow lefties would want to admit that either...better go back to the "clubhouse" and huddle-up with your "team" make sure they're ok with you making statements like that!!

bigsk8fan - A TRUE Republican stands for a Patriot Act that realizes times have changed and there is a concerted effort to kill Americans and that our intelligence and law enforcement agencies have to be allowed to keep up, he/she stands for low taxes because statistics prove that lower tax RATES have actually incented higher tax revenues in that low tax rates incentivize work and investment, rather than penalizing it and because he/she knows that anything that CAN be done by private industry is done better than it would be by a bloated government bureaucracy. A TRUE Republican (and a rational Democrats as well) understands that war is not a first choice, but that true peace isn't just the lack of war, but the presence of law and order and justice. A Republican doesn't "torture enemy soldiers" (which we haven't done, Al Qaeda and Taliban are not soldiers and the items we call torture here are more like fraterity pledging hazing - sleep deprivation, loud music, cold temps), but doesn't give foreign terrorists access to our civilian courts where they have no right. A TRUE AMERICAN doesn't just buy MoveOn.org and other loonery left propaganda and spew hate at its leaders, and accuse America of all the wrongs...they actually have some solutions and constructive ideas rather than just complaints and rhetoric.

You have been spoon-fed to much right wing hate!!!! You need to quit listening to all the Rush Limbaughs that are out there and start using your own brain! You might find there is something in this country besides the hate these moron's spew. That's why a lot of us Republican's became Democrat's was due to the fascism that overtook the Republican party in the 80's. They finally succeeded in scraping the bottom of the barrel with George W Bush! They have exceeded all expectations with him. The Religious Nuts should be happy with him. He is truly their dreams coming true! As corrupt as they are.

A Republican stands for a "Patriot Act" that takes away all the civil liberty protections from Americans. A Republican stands for attacking a country that did NOT attack. A Republican stands for shutting down free speech when you disagree with them. A Republican stands for increasing the national debt to astronomical terms (which we are all just as responsible for as though we had signed a huge mortgage on our home) and saying they have cut your taxes. A Republican stands for torturing soldiers of enemy forces. And you say Democrats hate America's founding principles. Then you just don't understand American at all.

It's not the fault of anyone but YOURSELVES because YOU controled it all... all three branches and YOU failed. It wasn't the "Liberals'" or the "DNC" or the "LIberal" Media or any of the other groups of fellow American's you want to hate do bad...it was YOU!! Sieg Heil Y'all.

What good does FASCISM do at this point. PLEASE tell me why you hate your neighbors and fellow American's? ESPECIALLY when the target of your hatred is the OLDEST Party on this PLANET AND has produced so many of our great leaders. WHY? You people are willing to distroy this nation and everything it stands for aren't you? Your reason? They refuse to bow down to our fuehrer. They refuse to agree with and support the "Party"! If you hate America THIS much why not move to a fascist nation... there are a FEW left, where you can get up, click your heals together and shout. Sieg Heil!!

Even though this is not my country, I want to see what a woman can do. We have already seen what the men can do, not too good so far.

Yep, I am looking forward to the communist party electing hilary prez, and obama vp. GOOD TIMES ahead, more abortions (3000 daily now just think what we can work towards), more taxes, a health care system that you stand in line for days just to get in, a weak military, absence of free speech, lies, Pelosi flying her jet, Gore exagerating the green house effect for air time, loss of personal freedoms (guns, homeowners, entreprenuership, religious), no more sovreignty, no more flags, no more pledge. Can i get a reach around while the middle class is getting serviced by lobbyist and commi's running the show then please? Cant wait!!!

God it would be nice IF you Fascist would change your line. This is EXACTLY what you said about another President from the State of New York. He went on to be elected not once but FOUR times, lead us out of a Depression and through a WORLD War. He established safeguards in our society that still remain today and with HIS economic Plan, that remained in place until "Trickle Down", we became the Greatest Economic Superpower the World has ever known. Now I'm not saying she will be another Franklin Roosevelt but she's a lot closer than anyone else outthere right now. Take your fake Family Values and put them away, I really don't think your hatred for those who do not buy into your religion is going to carry the day for you now or for a long time to come.

Sorry, you Texans can't disown Curious George that easily--you all elected him governor of your state! Plus he seems to accurately reflect a virulent strain of right-wing ideology that appears to be popular in Texas. Suck it up, Texas.

Incidentally, George Bush would never qualify as a southerner or, more specifically, a Texan. That is just where Barbara happened to be vacationing when the little jerk was born. All of his roots are in Maine.

I agree with most of your comments, but, I had to correct your last comment. I am a fifth generation (at least) Texan and Bush is not a Texan of any kind, except for political purposes.

He was born in New Haven, Connecticut, grandson of a Connecticut Senator investigated for war profiteering...

We did produce such an individual... in 1960. But then he was fatally shot in 1963!

There will never be another John F. Kennedy, no matter how hard we look/search/hope/dream/pray.

We had a glimmer of hope with Ronald Regan, (no matter how you viewed his politics).

But now we'll have to settle for the retards, the ones we pick last to be on our 'team'.

It amazes me how Bush and his cronies gets any support.

Posted by jimkun at 03:25 AM : Apr 14, 2007

We agree.

It appears Republicans became "power drunk" and lost any sense of honor, integrity or concern for anything other than hanging on to power at all costs.

It is quite obvious Republicans no longer represent anyone other than their "base." Most of whom appear to be religious zealots & extremists equivalent to "Muslim extremists."

The Bush administration has elevated lying to the highest level I have ever seen in American politics. The Bush administration reminds me of one of those wacko banana republic dictatorships.
Lying appears to be their only real core "value."

I can only hope, and do sincerely hope, that whoever is elected will dramatically alter the course set by the Bush administration.

Lying and initiating unnecessary wars of aggression are not symbolic of anything I support.

Tuckerndfw... Among independents (not even considering Democrats), Bush's approval rating is in the 28%. So it's only the Republicans which give him 75% approval rating which give him a "respectable" approval rating of the 34%. Doesn't it say something about Republicans when there is a 47% difference between what independents think and what Republicans think? And the Republicans ocnsider themselves mainstream?

By the way, with even more scandals lately, of Gonzales telling lies both to Congress and the American public, but Bush standing behind him, and Rove "accidentally" deleting e-mails... It amazes me how Bush and his cronies gets any support.
