The president is primarily a salesman. His primary role is promoting an agenda (selling it to the American public and world at large).

Presumably, the agenda he attempts to sell is based on public opinion as reflected in other elections. But, is actually determined by who contributes the most money to the presidential campaign. Which is why it is important to pay attention to where a politician gets his (financial) support.

It is highly unlikely that a "stateman" will ever be elected in the US. Voters do not want candidates who tell the truth (Jimmy Carter), voters want candidates who lie and tell jokes (Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton). Voters prefer entertainment to substance.

Texarkana, Texas is closer to Chicago, Illinois than it is to El Paso, Texas.

"Texan" has no single meaning. Most Texans currently live in cities or suburbs and are no longer the "rugged cowboy" depicted in movies.

I am a casual visitor to this website. I tend to spend my time on political issues. Most of the boards on which I participate are heavily infested with trolls, so it can be hard to find my comments unless you are willing to read through page after page of troll drivel.

Horses are kind of like people. There are all kinds.

The one trait shared by most all animals, including horses & cows, is they tend to be very skittish. Which sometimes leads to people unfamiliar with animals getting hurt.

Sounds like the NeoCommies and MoveOn.org have hijacked a Democrat party that I once knew and respected.
