CBS News Survey: 39% Say GOP Presidential Candidate Paints Too Rosy A Picture Of War
- like John McCain. If you ever saw the movie or read the book Faith of My Fathers, you would know he had a chance to go home early from the Vietnam POW camp due to his father's clout in the military. He chose to reject preferential treatment, stay with his fellow prisoners, and endure several more years of torture.
Anyone who makes a sacrafice like that deserves a shot at the presidency Posted by bizzzz at 05:26 PM : Apr 11, 2007
Ok. We'll state the obvious.... We have found McCain to be a bald faced liar. He lied not once or even twice, if you watch the you tube videos McCain vs McCain which compares the McCain in 2000 with the one now or even the one in 2000 with comments he made even a few minutes later...you would know that the man appears to be a pathological liar. Not a Misspeaker. That is just a polite word for LIAR.
So... you read a book that McCain wrote--and you determined the book was true because.....let's guess...McCain said it was true. Now...boys and girls, how likely is it that a person who lies to be elected or supported or to get converts to their side--how likely is it that they tell the truth?
I hope you are a Republican. One of those people Bush was talking about when he opined: "You can fool some of the people all of the time and those are the people we need to work on" RIIIIIIght. SAy goodnite Gracie. - Reply to this comment
- Senator McCain cannot refrain from his self sustaining mis-belief that the Iraq war was or is justified. This is a direct try at the suggestion that the American People are dummied up with the Bush rhetoric that they will be gullible enough to believe anything. Anyone, and especially members of the press, present awareness of the Iraq debacle not being at all justified. People who have access to the internet should look up PNAC in their computer and discover the mental rigamortis that the Bush Administration believes the American Public has achieved ---it just ain't so Bushites - absolutely no justification - not even plausible excuses that could be used in last chance choices.
This horrendous mishap was wholly the product of a person [or perhaps a group] that decided they had the answer to a world more to their liking --and if the event was successful, they could enjoy the "control of the distribution of oil in Iraq%u201D and if that goal had a bit of favorable ending, %u201Con to Iran%u201D. Of course, the Afghanistan Pipeline Project had to fit in somewhere - the 9/11 issue gave that obstacle a convincing story.
Nope, not justified Senator. Could you just tell the truth. - Reply to this comment

You are a hero in my book. Unfortunately, I think W must go. And so must anyone like McCain who supports this cursed war in Iraq. America should never be the illegal war aggressor. This is nothing like Afghanistan. Afghan Taliban protected Al Qaeda. Iraq actually executed many Al Qaeda agents. Now, more Iraqis have died under USA occupation in Iraq. They are asking us to leave. We should go if we claim any morality at all. - Reply to this comment

I was a marine for 8 years and served in the first gulf war (in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait), my MOS was explosive ordinance, I won four medals and six ribbons. I now live in southern Ca, work in real estate, and live a house with a view of the ocean. Your calling me a loser and a traitor? What do you do? How many medals has your country given you?
Your nobody. Your a loser and your family thinks your a loser. - Reply to this comment
- conservative thought is based on fear ... 9/11 was an event manufactured by American, Israeli and Evangelical right wing extremists to frighten the American public into their anti-Arab/anti-Islam, imperial world view ... the planes didn't bring the buildings down ... www.911revisted.com

- Lets say we run from Iraq like whipped puppies. The enemies that we dont kill today will come back and haunt us tomorrow- US8thhit
Exactly what are we doing to protect this soil, we can't even close the borders to hungry illigals?
Our National Guard is over in the Mid East, our money, our soldiers are over there.
What has Bush done to protect THIS soil we stand on. He is making war in two countries, already spread thin. The extremists who hate America are a global threat. Anyone believe they only live in Iraq, Iran, or Afganistan? What about Syria, Pakistan, Israel, Egypt? No baddies there?
I feel no safer now with all our financial and military assets gone overseas, than I did in 9/11. If we need to be on guard, why not guard our own soil HERE, protect our own people HERE, instead of leaving us all vulnerable while Bush runs terrorists around in some other country? - Reply to this comment
- I think McCain means well, he is probably a pretty good guy too. But his is not the backbone needed to clean up the stable that Bush/Cheneigh has made of our White House. He will be just as weak a leader as Bush is and will need to be reenforced by stronger more aggessive advisors. That opens the door to another bunch like Rove and Cheneigh and we just can't handle 4 more years of war and profit for the already wealthy.
