"The THREAT is Religious Extremism and has NOTHING to do with the Arab World. To act like a Nazi and try to do what Bush and the Republican's have done with this is beyond belief. This is about people so hung up on Religion and the hatred of OTHER religions that they will blow themselves up. They are no different than our OWN religious extremist Sparky... just more of them."

How so? When its in their Quran that they will force non-muslims to become muslim, or kill them, etc etc. Its not extreme...its baseline to their "religion." How can we support this as a religion and not a fanatic cult?

I'm in no way religious, but I fail to see this as something our founding fathers would have approved of when they guaranteed freedoms to practice your religion of choice.

**And don't turn this into a constitutional debate relative to the current administration's abuses...I'm simply referring to the religion matter**

"Anyone who can't see the threat from the Arab world has his head in the sand. Virtually every hotspot in the world involves Muslims. This threat did not start with George Bush or the Republicans. To deny this threat is to live in fantasyland."

You're absolutely right - it didn't start with the Republicans.
But who gave arms and training to the Taliban? Reagan.
Who gave arms and training to Iran in the Iran-Contra affair? Reagan.
Who armed Iraq in the war against Iran? Reagan (with Bush Sr. doing most of the negotiating behind the scenes.)
Who is now arming the Sunni militants to help fight "our mutual" enemy al-Qaeda? Bush Jr.

It seems to me that the Republicans have ARMED more of our enemies than any other country on earth.
By the way - do a google search on Prescott Bush and see how he made the Bush family fotune. It was by selling weapons to both sides in WWI and WWII.

I was always surprised why McCain didn't get the 2000 Repub nomination: he was always twice the man Bush was....even as a Dem I could see it.

McCain was on a roll until he was swift-boated like John Kerry with the accusation from the Bush camp McCain fathered an African-American child out of wedlock! Remember that? McCain never recovered from the dirty politics from the Bush forces. Yet in the end, John McCain is a victim of his own (admirable) old-school blind loyalty.

"He's Senate Boy and then he changes into Veep Man"

I'm not sure about that - but one thing that I am sure about, is that he's a f#$king a$$hole coward, drink driving (twice caught), motherf#$ker.

And that's me being polite about the man who would sell his own mother just to put another couple of bucks in his pocket.

"When I graduated college, there was only one job for every graduate. Inflation under Jimmy Carter was a real hardship for my family. The interest rate on my first home was 9 1/2%. Life improved greatly under President Reagan and has been great since then." Posted by rhs648 at 11:09 PM : Jul 04, 2007

You might want to go back and study Nixon's oil policy before you blame everything on Carter. Also, rising interest rates and inflation continued well into Reagan's third year. Do you blame Carter for that too?

Those of us who were in the military during Reagan's term know that he was "most unkind" to the military as far as pay raises go.

"What mess are you referring to? As I recall, Clinton left us a strong economy, budget surpluses, a shrinking deficit, and a country not at war. Now compare that to the legacy your man Bush will leave. You must be a total moron." Posted by jimfinster at 06:55 PM : Jul 04, 2007

Not to mention a 4.0% unemployment rate, which increased rapidly after Bush took office.

"That leftie judge got Skooter but Cheney's was too slippery." Posted by JEgibbons at 07:06 PM : Jul 04, 2007

That "leftie judge" as you call him, was appointed to a lifetime seat on the federal bench by none other than George W. Bush.

You have no credibility, gibbons.
