My father died of dementia. He never played football or suffered head injuries. Although I don't doubt that head injuries can lead to dementia or Alzheimer disease, we can't just assume that every case of dementia or alzheimer disease in football players is related to a head injury. We know young drivers have the most car accidents but we don't assume all young drivers will have an accident. I am not trying to take anything way from Alex Karras or any other football player.

Its ridiculous to sue the NFL because no one knew the long term effects of playing football. I mean, these guys get paid a lot of money to put their health on the line when they play. They know it is dangerous. Football is a collision sport and it has obvious risks. No way was the NFL hiding anything or making players play with inferior equipment. Should boxers be able to sue the Boxing Federation when they get head trauma?? No!, so why is football any different? Individual responsibility!! Live with the consequenses of what you choose to do!
