Here we go with all that silly PC-ness again when there's no need. We need less fabric getting in the way - not more!

Bikini's is what draws me to the games. The one with the smallest bikini always comes out a winner.

Thank you. Now we can watch the sport instead of the girls pulling their bakinis out of their butts.

Who goes fully clothed to the beach? Bikinis should be made mandatory to wear in this sport. It is called beach volleyball not church or religion volleyball. If they want to go with their religions beliefs then they should not compete at all and stay out of the Olympics. What's next a marathon runner with all the tunic and cover?
Ridiculous

Since there is no real advantage to wearing less clothing while playing volleyball, both men and women should wear identical attire. If a few Neanderthals stop watching the women play, so be it. As it is, with the women wearing the bikinis, it's nothing but a T&A review, and doesn't belong in the Olympics. In my opinion.

Having a dress code, other than to make sure that the naughty bites are covered (although personally I'm not sexually repressed enough to care about if they went nude), is ridiculous. The focus should be on athletic prowess rather than a boob and butt spectacle. If a girl wants to wear an tinny winy bikini then fine but she shouldn't be required to wear one.

Look, women are naked when they skate even though men wear covering. Somehow, apparently, it impedes women's performance but doesn't affect the mens?? Oh, I get it! Women have to jump, the men only have to catch?? Wonder how, in the world they do it in the NBA?

There may be something to this scantily clad enhances performance stuff. Let's see if we can't entice members of congress to dress like the women in volleyball; maybe, jusy maybe they will get something done.

Beach volleyball requires great skill, no argument there. I just have never felt it should have been incorporated into an Olympic sport. That said, I think the whole bikini thing is an eye candy issue. Look at the men. They wear baggy shorts, not teeny weeny( no pun intended) speedos. Why can't women wear a more modest uniform. Shorts and a T-shirt is hardly a burka as some of you suggest. If one is watching purely for the athletic value, does it really matter what they wear?

But we (men) certainly aren't watching, beach volleyball for the pure "athletic value", that would be unwathcable and boring....we are watching the hot women, in bikinis, who happen to be playing volleyball.

in my opinion, burkas and beaches don't mix.
