- It always amazes me that something totally unrelated to politics usually winds being blamed on the Republicans.

- Maybe I should sue the PGA for refusing me a card, simply because I can''t play golf. That''s discrimination.

- Good thing the NFL and the NBA doesn''t have this rule or most of the team would be fired. Ever heard those guys speaking ebonics? That''s certainly not English!

- ALL AMERICANS MUST LEARN SPANISH

That is like Carter insisting we use the metric system. There are many things beyond the power of the presidency. Even if you were right (and you are not) Obama will not have the power as president to force anyone to learn Spanish. - Reply to this comment
- GOP is the only party that is also against amnesty for illegals

You have not learned your history. Both Democrats and Republicans have given amnesty to illegal aliens. - Reply to this comment
- "The LPGA Tour boasts players from all over the world ...." and they require everyone to speak English?
Look for the person who made this decision to be asked to leave the LPGA in under a week. - Reply to this comment
- This is ridiculous. It used to be that the best athletes were considered to be in the US. That''s why athletes from around the world want to see if they have what it takes to compete against the best. One of the "arguments" for taking this measure is because of sponsorship. I would like to know which sponsors feel like imposing this on the LPGA. I seriously doubt there are any major sponsors who would condone such a measure. If the LPGA can''t sell to sponsors that they have the best women golfers in the world competing in their tournaments, then how do they expect to sell it with a lower quality of players. If all the LPGA is after is sponsorship, then why not make it a requirement that all LPGA players must be young, cute, fit, and wear short skirts.

- Actually, golfing as game or sport, has always had quite a few bigots running the competitions. So as the saying goes: nothing new under the sun.

Ah, but the French aren''t acting as bigoted as you, so get over yourself, idiot. - Reply to this comment
- The largest reason for the LPGA doing this was to satisfy the need for the players to participate in marketing of the brand. If they want to make millions playing golf they have to be able to communicate with sponsors and their guests during the pro-ams and if they can''t speak passable english they can''t do it! This is a perfectly legit requirement for them to have...

How did this become a republican/democrat conversation?
And by the way, the ability to speak a foreign language has nothing to do with the party you are in. But the key word is FOREIGN. - Reply to this comment
- Here''''s a news flash for you. It''''s in France. They can ask it if they want. It''''s their country. Who are you to tell them anything about what to do in France. The Nerve of Americans is uncanny. Get over yourselves, already.

Your post doesn''t make any sense. Yeah, the organizers of the tour de france does have the right to tell all competitors that they must speak french. And yes, Americans might be annoyed, just like germans, japanese, etc, might be annoyed.
But why are you assuming that Americans believe they have the right to tell the tour de france organizers what to do?
You are just "reading" in to the comment you responded to, to start a fight. - Reply to this comment
- VOTE GOP, BLOCK AMNESTY

In the 1980s, Ronald Reagan had an amnisty program for illegal aliens. McCain as president is far from a guarentee of no amisty. In fact, McCain has flip-flopped on amnisty, so no one can say if he will go along with amisty. - Reply to this comment
