Don''t feel sorry for the coach who could not simply pray with his team, because at least he has a life and probably is content in his life. Feel sorry for the over sensitive, always offended, anti-religious morons who would like to twist the constitution to hinder any expression of religion, especially in regards to Christianity. Men like Barry Lynn would be offended if you simply said "bless you" after he sneezed. This would cause him to have a panic attack. The problem is not with these kids, the coach, or religious expression. The real problem is those who would loose sleep over it or beat their wives or children everytime they heard someone. pray.

we don''''t know exactly what the teams'''' prayers entail - but they could be praying that all the players are safe and do not suffer any serious injuries, not necessarily praying for a win.

AND if the parents of those children do not wish OTHERS to pray for or lead prayers for their kids?? What then? When does the Gestapo stop? How long before some religious leader, like a Pat Robertson, is doing to them what he did to MILLIONS of American''s the day after 9/11?? Hummm??? Sieg Heil and Amen

As a high school and middle school coach with some exprerience, I''''ve NEVER heard a prayer for a "win". The closest it may come is something along the lines of "...if it is your will, God, that we win today, give us the strength, ability, and grace to carry out your will." I hope this gives you more clear insight to the nature of prayer.

What right do YOU have to impose your "Prayer" on the children of OTHER parents? Shouldn''t that be something they, the LEGAL PARENTS, of those children are responsible for? Sieg Heil and Amen

Hey I know you!! You were one of those creatures who preached "Equal but Different" and insisted that having the Klan in schools to "Pray" was okay. We are a very diverse country with over 2000 different religions. When Government starts taking the side of ONE citizen and THEIR religion over that of another we all know the outcome. I grew up in a time when it was acceptable to trample the rights of Jews, or other groups who do not believe as the "majority". I''ve seen with my own eyes the torture and anguish they are faced with as their PARENTS teach them ONE religion and the officials in the school teach then another. It''s not right and should be rejected OUTRIGHT. Religion or the lack there of IS and should ALWAYS remain the right of EACH INDIVIUAL PARENT to teach. NO government or ON official should be allowed to trample those rights. SIEG HEIL and AMEN

This is a crock. This is what people worry about when you have kids beating up other kids in school and ones that then come back and shoot up the school. How about focusing on the REAL problems getting violence out of schools. This is why so many parents are turning to home schooling.

Not that I think this is really something that people should be up in arms about, but.... doesn''t it seem silly to pray for something as trivial as to win a high-school ball game?
