Conflicting Accounts Given In Congressional Testimony Over Pitcher's Alleged Steroid Use
- This is pathetic. We did not elect our Congressmen to waste days on cheating in a sport.

- This is a ''NO BRAINER''. Ask who yourself has the most to lose? ANSWER: Roger ''The Rocket'' Clemens.
Rocket is rich and famous, and he''s the DUMBEST liar ever to face a cross examination. His Hubris is showing; he believes he''s invinsible! He needed this showdown like he needs a third ball. Ain''t believable, not even a little bit. Now, let''s see if anyone has the courage to prosecute this plastic hero! - Reply to this comment
- Gee, who here has more to lose by being forced to tell the truth? And who has more to be gained by lieing?
Clemens is an arrogant, deluded bozo. I''m sure in his disordered mind he''s convinced himself he''s never juiced. Just like that SOB Bonds. They''re both a couple of cheaters and I hope history remembers them as such. - Reply to this comment
- Who cares.
Think of the poor we could feed, the teachers we could hire, the good we could do for the world with the salaries that we pay these folks. - Reply to this comment
- ***, who gives a *** about baseball? people are liars by nature, let this *** alone, there are more important issues at hand!

- Oh, BTW, in case this wasn''t pointed out down thread anywhere:
ALL the Republican Senators and 18 of the Democratic ones voted to allow your internet, phone and cable providers to wiretap all of your communications and give them to the government.
Oh, and since they''ve already done this, and it was illegal, they granted them immunity for their criminal acts.
I''m sorry, BASEBALL is what''s important here. - Reply to this comment
- Clemens showed practically every physical tic associated with lying. Toungue flick, fingers, eye darts, the whole shebang.

- I''ve never seen people so united on an issue on these boards like this one. We all seem to agree...who cares! This is such a waste of tax dollars. Isn''t there something more important for Congress to work on like the sagging economy, helping people afford healthcare, the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, etc. Who''s this Dan Burton(R-Ind.) by the way? Does he get as worked up when a soldier from his district is killed in Iraq or a family from his district loses their home as he did while defending this Clemens guy? I bet Clemens donates a lot to the RNC.
Waxman needs to get a life and a nose job! He looks and acts like a rodent. Now I know why I always think of that old 70''s song ''Send in the Clowns'' when I see our beloved congressmen in action. - Reply to this comment
- I am watching the hearings at this time. The body language of McNamee doesn''t reflect that he tells the truth. Clemens is a different matter. Clemens appears to be telling the truth. They popped the gavel on Clemmens for interrupting.
My conclusion: Roger didn''t know his trainer was injecting him with steroids. Roger entered into an unprotected confidential relationship that was later breached.
I don''t see how anyone could trust McNamee with money, medicine, personal information, or intellectual property in the future. He might be qualified to shine shoes for my garbage collector and not betray him. - Reply to this comment
- Clemens is lying. He''s not even good at it. All this Bush league tough Texas talk is nothing but a smoke screen for the ball less wonder.

What beckajw said is true, Barack''s base is rich, Hillary''s base is poor. You personally are unimportant.
I am from NY, I''ve seen Hillary at work and I''ll support her all the way. - Reply to this comment
Where does Obama stand on sterioids?
Steroids are bad, but congress is worse.
Who''s going to investigate congress?- Reply to this comment
- Who CARES!!!
I want news that tells me why corporations are given billions in dollars to send my job and thousands of others overseas. I want news that tells me why we have $3-$4/gallon gas and Congress is still giving billions in subsidies to big oil. I want the truth on Iraq, not more cheerleading to war by the GOP favoring press.
who cares about Clemens and his use of steroids, we''ve known he''s been doing it for years and no one cared! We don''t care now!!! - Reply to this comment
- JERSupporter: In my experience, young people are his base.
I''m not an ardent support (and I''m a middle aged white guy) but when I wear my Obama shirt 20''s aged kids come up to me all the time and say they''re voting for him. Lots of them. And at every Starbucks I go to a clerk comments positively - I taken to calling his supporters the Starbucks Voters. It seems to fit.
I also understand that he has 80% of the black vote, but I''ve never had a black person (again, aside from the Starbucks Voter) say anything to me about Obama.
Take this for WIW, just personal observation, - Reply to this comment

Unless Bush and Cheney received an HGH shot from Brian McNamee - it probably is not going to happen. I do concur with your statement though. Remember the opposite of CON is PRO - so opposite of CONgress is PROgress. - Reply to this comment
- Ooops - I forgot, CBS censors the word cr-ap...

- Anyway, they could put an end to all this *** if they just go ahead and DNA test the "evidence" McNamee produced (needles, bloody gauze, etc) - if it turns up to be Clemens'' DNA, well, then, there you go. If it''s not, then drop it and MOVE THE HE-LL ON!!!

- Steroids are bad, but I just wish the people of America would get as upset over a bunch of greed mongers deceiving the whole country so they could send American men and women off to die in a oil war that had nothing to do with 9/11 as they do over their favorite sports team.

- Becajw: I am FAR from rich, and I support Barak Obama - I am also a white, middle-aged lady, so you think I SHOULD support Clinton and her wanting 4 or more years to improve Bill''s image??? I support Barak because he has a true vision of what this nation can do when we UNITE - not work against each other. Besides, this article is about the hearing with Clemens and MacNamee - why drag the presidential election into it. It is just a bunch of legislators trying to get to the bottom of a "steroids scandal" that I could give two sh-its about. It''s on all the news channels live, guess there is nothing else noteworthy going on today, and nothing else for Congress to spend their time and OUR money on.....
