Only in the the last year has the media turned the noose into an icon of hate and already it has claimed one of its own. Stupid media

"Yeah, and everyone of them volunteered to join up. What"s your irrelevant point?"

That"s right. They volunteered.

We don"t have to talk about this if it makes you uncomfortable.

"Ask the black mothers of the American cities. Who killed your son? Was it the KKK or a black man that killed him? Come back & report your findings here."

There are a dispropotionate number of Black men and women fighting in Iraq and Afghhanistan to protect your right to paint with a broad brush like this.

But you don"t want to talk about that.

Firing this man was a complete knee-jerk overreaction. Problems don''t go away by burying your head in the sand or arbitrarily ruling out symbols.

The cover is in bad taste, but too, I think some need to get a little bit thick skinned.

After all,, the Noose is a symbol of the old west, as well!

Golf channel anchor..."Jacob Goldstein is such a great golfer that the only way to beat him is to drag him out back and gas him hahahaha" Editor of Golf Weekly...." In reference to the Jacob Goldstein story on the golf channel I think it would be a good idea to put a photo of a swastika on the cover of this weeks mag..don''t worry if people get pissed off we''ll blame Al Sharpton".

Compare the number of black men the KKK has killed in the last 25 years to the number of black men that black men themselves have killed?

Ask the black mothers of the American cities. Who killed your son? Was it the KKK or a black man that killed him? Come back & report your findings here.

RE: "The enemy of the black man is the black man."

An example of the "Division" Logical Fallacy, and one of the reasons for the common saying that "there are three kinds of lies: lies, d*amned lies and statistics."

Because a group as a whole has a certain statistical characteristic, it doesn"t necessarily follow that individuals in the group have that characteristic. If you suppose that it does follow, when it doesn"t, you commit the fallacy of division.

To go from group statistics for certain minority groups, and then to apply it blindly to the iindividual, as in "The enemy of the black man is the black man," is a logical fallacy.

Racism is always based on faulty thought processes like this.

The law abiding person of any race is not the enemy of anyone.

The criminal is.

It just pollutes the whole discussion to keep bringing race into it.

RE: "The enemy of the black man is the black man."

Why not say, "The enemy of the law abiding person is the criminal" ?

That would be a lot more accurate.

Also true, but until we ourselves are even halfway healed from the thousands of small wounds, we can only give a small bit of effort to help fight the big cause.

I understand what you are trying to say, there is this one problem, while the big guns are stealing from all of us, the little guns are continuing the practices that divide us.

Like I said before, check all the stats, these activities are not all the purview of the bug guns, the banks still won''t invest, and lend at higher interest, insurance companies still discriminate, the police still brutalize, real estate agents still discriminate, as do schools, hospitals, local zoning ordinances, even taxi drivers.

I say that if they wish to discriminate, perhaps it is their "right", but it is also our right to react with appropriate immediate and if possible, economically crippling sanctions against them.

We cannot ignore these, as the are quite real and leave real victims. We must call attention and take appropriate actions whenever and wherever they occur, and those who see it as some reverse kind of racism are simply obfuscating. Those who tell us we should "stop whining" and accept the status quo of being second and third class citizens are our enemies also, but they are whistling in the wind.

%u201CNot so much naive as Machiavellian, they wish to try to use denial as an excuse to try to bring back Jim Crow, so they can continue their racist practices without consequence%u201D

I agree that there is a %u2018Machiavellian conspiracy%u2019 afoot, but I believe you are looking in the wrong direction for the conspirators. Perhaps if we all stopped glaring at each other with suspicion and mistrust for a moment, we might look up at those who are making a helluva nifty profit out of keeping the majority of us distracted, instead of being truly alarmed at what is happening every day to all of us.

Does the phrase, %u2018divide & conquer%u2019 strike a familiar note? While we flail away at each other over inconsequential turns of phrase, those treasonous SOBs are stealing our great grandchildren%u2019s future.

If only for pure self-interest, we should all just stop allowing ourselves to be played by these vermin.

"Granted, I would never have said something as provocative as that, but primarily because I know how hate-mongering hustlers like Sharpton would distort it and use it to create a crisis where none existed." Posted by ddaymichael

The typical modus operandi of a racist coward, you wouldn''t say it "primarily" for fear of the reaction, but you would still wish it, and most probably base your relationship with the black population of the unspoken wish. You say it with your posts, even if it is not verbatim.

Tell me, what is the difference between someone who doesn''t use the "n-word", but stabs "them" in the back, and one who says it, and stabs "them" in the back, regardless of the consequences?

The only one I can think of is that the one who says it openly at least has the courage of his twisted convictions.

"The enemy of the black man is the black man. Think about it. It''''s true. It''''s not the Imperial Wizard of the KKK. It''''s not Don Imus. It''''s not the white men doing the "seig heil" or putting a sambo doll in someone''''s desk or whatever. Puh-leeeze." Posted by Keithle1

ROFLMAO, that lie is one of the better ones I have read on these posts, You seriously believe that the kkk, whose entire history is devoted to the eradication of "Black" people, are not enemies? You should write for Imus, you''d fit right in, dude!

You bash Sharpton, but not a word for the person who suggested lynching a "Black" man%u201D

If you actually believe that Kelly Tilghman was advocating the lynching of the greatest figure in golf today, you are not only not worth another second of my time, but should not be allowed outside unsupervised, and should never...ever...be allowed to breed. The world has enough incredibly stupid racists already. You just seem more thoughtful and articulate than most.

Granted, I would never have said something as provocative as that, but primarily because I know how hate-mongering hustlers like Sharpton would distort it and use it to create a crisis where none existed.

Since Kelly Tilghman doubtless knows Tiger Woods personally, perhaps she said what she said knowing that Tiger himself would not be offended, but completely miscalculated how others might perceive her remarks.

"The enemy of the black man is the black man." Even if this were true, and not simply obscurantism, it''s interesting that the only people that ever claim this are racists -- including Malcolm X, since he''s the first person I can recall saying it.
