Okay kids, let''s get real. Every professional athlete has used drugs ever since the games went to television.
There is too much money at stake not to play well on covered game days-read "Semi-tough." Narcotics to kill the agony of playing in pain, speed to stay up for the game-and now steroids. The same is true for cycling, basketball, and BASEBALL. Everyone uses drugs-otherwise they couldn''t play. Give a mediocre
player steroids-it does not improve their performance.
But give a star the drugs-wow, what a show. Good ratings, big money, big salaries and the we can all play ball. Make it legal. Watch everyone''s health and we enter the 21st century of sport with a new culture of enhanced performance. GROW UP. And if you bring up children, all I can say is, they will take drugs anyway.

It"s really going to be boring now.

A .170 batting average will be the mark of a superstar.

"Judge me by my work," Mitchell said.

Lest any man should boast.

marcpcbs: Funny but I happen to agree to agree with most of you said, up until the point where you start lumping people together and labeling them and assigning beliefs to them that just aren''t true. But it''s OK, I know you will hold fast and never change your stance, so I won''t even try to start a debate.

Leave it to people like you to fill the schools with drugs and not care.

marcpcbs: Love it when you somehow managed to link baseball fans to liberal voters. People like you have a special talent of assigning every ills in the world to the "libs". So it must be true that Ann Coulter is a very influential columnist after all.

What''s even worse than drugs in baseball?

For many years fans and officials alike have been turning a blind eye to the obvious fact that a huge percentage of pro ball players have been using steroids because pro ball in the US is a 6 Billion a year source of entertainment.

For the past thirty some years parents, law enforcement, law makers and liberal voters have been turning a blind eye to the fact that marijuana is now in every High School, Junior High School and Grade School in our nation. It is destroying the health, educations and futures of literally millions of our kids and we still believe that pot smoke, which is 98% the same as cigarette smoke, is medicine. There are thousands of pot growers in Mendocino County CA alone that annually profit to the tune of $45 to $55 Billion and 70% of that is children''s lunch money from all across the nation.

What this means is as long as we are being entertained, getting high or making money, lies are OK. Even if it means our kids are being poisoned.

How do we fix both situations?

Stop the drug dealers and start Drug Testing

There was a time when all sports were played by people on their own abilities, the way, of course, that it should be.
There was a time when very few sports players were ever in trouble with the law.
Now, drug addicts, rapists, creeps, and skudgeballs have taken over sports in the U.S. And, they are paid big money to do it. Crazy.
Hopefully, this steroid investiigation will help to bring all sports back to where it belongs, on just the NATURAL ability to play sports and to be a favorable icon for young people.
The sports industry must police their own ranks.

whatithink,
In your conclusion you are telling me that it is justified if I jump off a bridge and then your jump off a bridge, it would then be CBS''s fault because we both talked on this forum. Is that correct?

%u2026 put the blame where the blame is due (not according to race), on the Individual!! That is what is wrong with this world%u2026 everyone is to fast to point the finger (it is the white people, black people, asian people, etc) on everyone but themselves%u2026

As a Brit who loves baseball, this report is pretty disappointing. All my soccer loving friends will no doubt be sniggering into their warm beer.

But lets be honest, baseball isn''t the only sport to be tainted by illegal drugs. The last Tour de France was ruined by cheats.

As someone who dreams of major league baseball coming to Britain, this affair wont diminish my respect or love for the game. Most players are honest, and I think it''s only fair to remember that.
