Well, failing to raise taxes cannot possibly jeopardize Social Security, because that money is safely tucked away in a lock box......right??? What a bunch of hypocrites!

Deficits are not caused by taking less of people's money. Deficits are caused by spending more money than you take from people. Its really not very complicated.

Spend money only on that which the constitution allows and there will be more than enough to go around. And for the recorrd, studying the affect of cow farts on global warming, is NOT what the founders had in mind.

Here we go again... another debate on whether it's better to be stabbed by a Republican or shot by a Democrat.

This from a "big" spender who loves to "fatten up" appropriations for the mobs he represents.

I heard on the Radio yesterday that Citi borrowed 45 billion of our money (us the American People) at near zero percent interest. Then the Government (us the American People) borrowed that money back at 4.5% allowing Citi to make the spread or money on that loan so they could buy back the stock from the Government (us the American People).

I also heard that the government (us the American People) bought the bad loans citi had at 100% so they lost nothing.

Hear for yourself:

And where is Dodd and Frank on this? Are they not supposed to watch out for these deals?

And now this, Obama's man Peter Orszag the 37th Director of the Office of Management and Budget under President Barack Obama gets a job with Citi. I am sure it is only coincidental, right....

I wonder why CBS cannot find these things out, I wonder why?

Liberals, if this were a Republican president, would you let this stand?

This is your Hope and Change?

The long-term Republican solution (and Democratic, as "fellow travelers"), along with Erskine Bowles and his cronies is what might be termed THE SILENT KILLER SOLUTION. The unemployed and retirees will have insufficient monies for health care, particularly for expensive medicines. People in bitterly cold climates like Minnesota and North Dakota will lack the money needed for fuel oil to heat their houses.
Thus, they will die quietly. If a burglar entered their homes and killed them, it would make the 11 o'clock news. But instead, millions of Americans WILL DIE QUIETLY from lack of health care. Of course, that isn't the fault of congress. They should have become millionaires. Tut, tut. It's a free market -- free to die quietly from the SILENT KILLER SOLUTION.
This will change the demographics of old age. Fewer people will live into their 80s and 90s. This will help to keep Social Security and Medicare more solvent. Just let people die quietly in their 60s, after they've been laid off.

I think we should do like the Palestinians, start throwing stones at each other. Maybe we could settle this argument over taxing the rich.

=======================================

I am glad that you brought up Palistine, since it shows on a micro scale what happens when you do not have enough resources to accommodate growth; social upheaval. Yet another example of why infinite growth is a joke. Religion is used as an scapegoat when both the Palistinians and Israelis need to admit that the settlements are a direct result of massive, out of control growth. Just dont tell either side that reproduction is not a "right", or they may stone you to death.

BTW: They are tapping into prehistoric aquifers to supply water to the thirsty; what they are not telling them is that it takes millions of years to replenish those aquifers. Yet another lie to beget the grand lie of infinite growth.

How about we make Obama pay the $400 million he gave to the Gaza terrorists?

=====================================

My point was obviously overlooked in your expressions of mindless dogma.
Arguments of debt or deficits or what have you are moot when illustrated within the context of an economic system that is fatally flawed.

Tax cuts for the rich, huh. Ummm... its their money to begin with...any questions?

----------------------------------------

Yeah, I have a question. Tell me how the "self sufficient" wealthy could have attained their wealth without roads, electrical, labor (public educated or otherwise), raw materials (the means to capital), etc?

It is a two way street. The problem is that the wealthy have not learned from history that there is a fine balance between wealth disparity and social upheaval; and that they should not be surprised when the subsequent flames of discontent lick at the doors of their McMansions.

For years and years and years Nader has been pontificating about how bad the GOP is...

I agree, many in the GOP are as bad as he says... but just as many Dems are just as bad.

The fact is... there are too many arrogant, corrupt, incumbent, career politicians working in ALL branches of our government... including the Judicial System and all of the UNELECTED CZARS who are getting paid by the Tax Payers to work behind the scenes in what many call privileged secrecy.

Time for Nader to wake up... the Global Progressives are in charge and they wear two hats... go to either side of the isle... you will find them... just listen...

Then, don't deal. It is Obama who wants to spend all that money, after all. Just tell him....NO!
