Has anyone checked into MS. Napolitano's background? Her twisted outlook on homeland security causes me to wonder. Has anyone done a background check on MS. Napolitano to see if there have been any child molestation charges against her or perhaps something like that happened to her and this is her revenge?

What about the potential for an attack that originates from within the 'security industry'?

I agree, we have become the evil we abhor. We have become the rogue nation, doing terrorist attacks all over the world in the name of "security". Why was airport security such a PROBLEM all of a sudden? Because the Republicans and their greedy corporate masters had machine to sell. Always just follow the corporate money.

What about the potential for an attack that originates from within the 'security industry'?

Remember the Anthrax that was used to attack and terrorize Americans was sent by an American Bioweapons expert who was taxpayer funded and worked at a US defense installation. This misguided individual was trying to make a point about the importance of his security work by creating an actual attack. There have been other similar cases as well, for example, a disturbed police officer planted a pipe bomb in Times Square in a case that received little publicity.

Some people in the security industry have both the means to cause great harm (security clearances, access to sophisticated weapons, contacts with unsavory elements) and they have a variety of motives to cause such harm (financial gain, making a political point, gaining influence, power and status).

Most notably -- there is the potential for enormous financial gain for some people in the security industry if there is another attack...

We as a nation are full of stupid people, we are spending billions to make us safe in the air while we take huge risks on our highways, with smoking with drinking alcohol, those deaths are acceptable but one or two planes downed by terrorists are not.

We are trying to make air travel 100% foolproof, but nothing is 100% foolproof. We should accept some risks, do our best and move on in life, no one lives forever.

We have more chances of being blind sided a mile from our house than running into a terrorist ever.

We are turning our nation into fortress america and in the end making us prisoners.

Why are we giving the bad guys so much leverage? They boasted the printer bomb cost them $4k, while our over reaction cost us $$ hundreds of millions.

Why do we jump everytime the bad guys tell us to jump?

Too bad we will never be free again, prisoners of our own fears.

More people die of car accidents, smoking, drinking, than terrorism, but we're so afraid.

We deserve neither liberty or security because there is no way to be 100% safe.

I think that Hillary Clinton needs to keep her personal comments to herself. When is the last time you have seen her or Bill get on a commercial flight?

She is an ex-First lady and Secretary of State so the possibility of her flying commercial are as good as Osama Bin Laden showing up at a Pakistanian flea market selling fake Rolex watches and IPads!

I can't imagine a better target for attacks than a line of people waiting to go through a security checkpoint at an airport.

Never mind the complete disregard for the 4th amendment, never mind the personal privacy concerns, the virtual strip search or the type of a pat down you'd expect as a felon entering prison. Those are horrific in and of themselves.

It is the fact that these screening methods are there to ensure our security. That they actually increase our danger hasn't ever been reported that I've seen.

A potential attacker doesn't even have to pass through the metal detectors to have a target of opportunity larger than what any one plane load of people could offer.

With the Christmas and Thanksgiving travel season upon us, there will be plane-loads of people waiting to pass through these systems. A perfect target hanging low enough on the tree to just reach out and pluck.

I agree. They might need to re-learn how to keep their hands to themselves and out of places where they don't belong.
