- I love it. Doughy, lazy, drunk Americans whining about immigrants taking their jobs. LOL Sure, why don't some of you try picking our vegetables for 12 hours a day for 8 bucks an hour with no benefits, etc. Let's see how many doughy Republicans can hack real work, then we'll see just how many are left to screach about illegal immigration. And beside, where are you from? Unless you're an Cherokee or Crow or something, you have about as much claim to this land you inherited from a better generation as the illegal immigrants do.

- Matters not how it gets done. Matters not what senator or congressmans name is on the bill. But, making the illegals legal should be the priority. For these people to remain in this state of limbo is what is wrong in so many ways. The financial burden placed upon the states and country as a whole is Totally racist in favor of Latinos. Yet, all the while the compaints are the opposite. As a citizen I do not get the free services recieved by illegals. Therefore there is a clear advantage to not be a citizen in america. Theives are theives and need to be prosicuted to the fullest extent of the "existing" law. It took a lot of tennis balls for AZ to call out the ferol gooberment on their lax behavior on this issue. The squeaky wheel needs a little oil....I hear there is a lot of extra on the gulf shores. thank hell a burton for this disaster. dorks cannot even mix a bag of cement properly.

- I think we are misssing the overall point of what is happening here. Kyl has been getting more and more conservative lately and now appears to have fallen off a cliff. These political hacks such as Kyl, McCain, Pearce and the mean-spirited Arizona governor have an agenda. It starts innocuously enough with trying to do something about immigration (sounds good, but it IS a police action), and now moves on to changing the U.S. Constitution. From there it will march on to Social Darwinism, with its doctrines of eugenics, euthanasia of the elderly and the terminally ill,re-organization of family life, including court-ordered communal living for recalcitrants, forced medical procedures, etc., etc. This is creeping totalitarianism. If this sounds paranoid to you, look around and see how such ideology is spreading to other states and how it is insinuating itself into the American political debate. These people are dangerous. We need to open our eyes and reveal them for what they are.

- I have long advocating an admendment that would require that at least one of the parents either be a citizen, or in the process of becoming a citizen for the child to have automatic citizenship. This would be for the 50 states, various territories of the US, and to cover those citizens that are abroad.

- Sadly, there is a story here that nobody is hearing from the leftist media and their White House handlers. There are now, as we speak, hundreds of thousands of non-U.S. citizens working and risking their lives for our country as employees of the U.S. Departments of Defense and State. There are Bosnians, Filipinos, Pakistanis, Indians, other Latinos, and other "card holders" or ?foreign nationals? from around the world assigned to duties in Iraq, Afghanistan and other dangerous regions who will have to jump through hoops and continue in their legal journey to American citizenship. In the meantime, border jumpers, felons and other illegal aliens who violated our laws and breached our borders have the unmitigated gall to march down American streets and demand American citizenship? Hell no! Enough is enough. Enforce our laws now or get the hell out of Washington.

- Thirty-eight states are never going to go along with amending the Constitution on this issue...either by ratifying an amendment or by calling for a constitutional convention. Too many different groups get very, very nervous about the idea of screwing around with the 14th Amendment in particular. A constitutional convention can also become a runaway freight train that then goes on to deal with other issues and agendas as well.
Severely curtailing who can cross the border until we straighten out the chaos that is going on there is the way to go. - Reply to this comment
- It goes without saying that US citizenship for children born of parents who are in this country legally should and must be preserved.

- I think if a baby doesn't have a legal sponsor, they shouldn't be given citizenship, they are anchor babies, many illegals have purposely gotten pregnant women smuggled over so that baby could be a citizen and eventually sponsor them or just get the free citizenship for the grandkids. cheaters shouldn't win

- After watching the CBS evening NEWS, I have lost all confidence that CBS is interested in journalism.
You are intentionally omitting information and feeding mass misinformation.
Too bad.
Poor citizenship is one thing.
Lack of Professionalism and detachment is another.
You showed both.
Good day to you. - Reply to this comment
