Comments on: Tea Party Leader: NAACP Is Playing the Race Card

- Where's the Shirley Sherrod story? Others on this board have to post links to somewhere else so CBS viewers can see the story and the video. Is CBS covering up yet another story to match their political agenda? The story is probably tucked away with the New Blank Panthers story... in the third file called "truth". Truth is, reverse racism in this country is rampant and has gotten worse with the election of our "post racial" President. You White folk are so busy being guilty for the past sins of your ancestors, you look the other way when racism against you is in your face. For God sakes, stand up for yourselves! Don't you care about your children's future? Don't you care about an America that really is color blind? Or, are you kowtowed into political correctness (i.e. doing nothing) for the sake of your jobs and your false security? Or, are you afraid to say anything because you fear being called the "r" word?

- When the NAACP didn't come out and vigorously denounced the hateful rant from a bigot, who happens to be black, they lost all credibility.

- Both the Tea Party and NAACP need to be disbanded.

- The bottom line is, there are racist elements in the Tea Party and the NAACP has made a legitimate request that party leaders denounce them. Instead, Tea Party talking heads, including sarah Palin, like to pretend these biggots don't exist. They say things like "I just can't believe the NAACP would say it is somehow racist for loyal patriotic Americans to stand up for their rights." Which isn't what the NAACP is saying at all. And this failure to acknowledge the biggots gives the appearance that the party leaders aren't all that bothered by them. Which leaves you questioning the Tea Party as a whole, ya know?
It would be refreshing just to hear some Tea Party folks say "We denounce the racists and biggots at some of our rallies, that's not what the Tea Party is about." And then to hear stories about them asking these yahoos to leave when they're spotted at the rallies. Then I'd start to believe that the Tea Party actually cares about this issue. - Reply to this comment

I guess you don't watch the news. The Tea Baggers were hurling racist remarks at a black congressman during a rally against health care.
They were seen with numerous signs depicting Obama as Hitler, a African medicine man, etc.
The Tea Bag movement is backed by nutcases like Beck and other Fake "News" wackos. These people are constantly demonizing blacks, Hispanics, Muslims, democrats, progressives, liberals, etc.
Anyone who is not a racist, fat, pasty, rich, white corporatist.
LOL!
Where are the jobs you and obama promised us?
Where is the proof of racism?
How many times did you carry a sign depictind GWB as hitler? - Reply to this comment
- There are some good people who are in the Tea Party...but (and I repeat myself, from some time...back) as with all such movements, a majority of the time the good people are forced out by the appearance of psychopaths and criminal elements who scent money and/or power.
Any rational American can listen to this guy talk and sense - fairly feel - the racism that seeks to erupt from him.
If the Tea Party wants to have a future - an impact upon the course of our country - without betraying the meaning of American, they do...truly do...need to purge themselves of such as this "leader" and all who seek to use the Tea Party as a front for their hate. - Reply to this comment
- Watched these two go at it on Larry King. Video and pictures of Tea Party rallies and the controversial billboard were featured.
#1 - The billboard with Obama and Hitler and Stalin is not racist, it's political.
#2 - Signs with Obama with Joker makeup and the the caption "the joke is on us" is not racist.
#3 - Pictures of Obama with a bone through his nose IS racist as it focuses on his ethnicity.
So, one out of three is hardly enough to condemn a whole political party/movement.
The NAACP made a HUGE mistake playing the race card on this one, especially since whites elected President Obama and put him in office; never would have happened without them.
Now, they are pissed off that the government is not listening and spending money it simply does not have. - Reply to this comment
