- The media reporting is now beginning to change. Something has gotten control of the information being reported. Estimates are now vague and under reported. No more information from scientists. It's all being carefully presented to the public.
Time to socialize the losses and bailout another big corporation and absolve it of its responsibility. The taxpayer will pay for this. Oh, but only rich people pay the taxes. - Reply to this comment

- America's focus has been on securing the borders to keep those "dangerous" illegal aliens from ruining our country as they fry hamburgers and mow lawns. The real irreversible damage is from foreign firms like BP. We had our eyes on the latch while the back door was wide open. It will also be interesting to see how China handles us as we are heavily indebted to them. Our real problem with foreigners is with those we give free reign to own our lands and ruin the habitat for our mariners and fish while ISS chases down small fish cases of those who came to work

- I am a retired project planning engineer with over 35 years experience in the field of project management. I started my career on the Apollo Space Program and coordinated the development of over 500 modifications on the Sky Lab Project. I was one of the planners on the Alaskan Pipeline. I have worked as a planner for nuclear power plants for SCE and Florida Power and Light. In my many years of experience I have seen the good, the bad, and the ugly when it comes to project management. In the 1990's I was made a "Fellow" by the AACE for national achievements in the field of project management.
I am amazed at the answers being given the news media by BP and the Government. Maybe because the media is not asking the right questions. Such as: Is there a war room where detail plans and schedules have been developed and monitored on a hourly basis, are all fronts being covered as far as developing plans and schedules on contingencies such as hurricanes? Believe me, I am certain a detail plan and schedule has been developed to eliminate the oil spill, so the media should be asking for the exact date of this event instead of getting such "mealy mouth" answers such as into the fall (that's code for we expect to be complete by 12-28-2010).
The media needs to ask for the Governments master plan and schedule and for a copy of all detail plans and schedules and if these plans don't exist the media needs to ask why not and when will they be developed! - Reply to this comment
- Do americans even care that this is happening? I drove by a BP gas station today and they still have PLENTY of customers. Americans are weak, pathetic and stupid. They deserve the treatment they get because they do NOTHING to prevent it.

No self respecting Admiral would have a picture taken with an open collar. So, next time the news wants to have a stand in, please at least try to get the uniform right.
The dude sounds more like a P R person from BP than one of our defenders of land air and sea.
Ok, granted I do not know the uniform code for the coasties. This is really pitiful if it is official.

- Interesting that when BP talks of oil capture, it is in Gallons. When they talk of escaping oil it is in Barrels. Good PR when pushing numbers around for false good news impressions.

- Have any student in Mechanical Engineering take out his Hayes Convective Mass and Heat Transfer book. Turn to pipe flow and make the calculations. Holy cow, we do not need a pristhood to do these calculations.
