As far as global warming goes, the 'sciece isn't settled' - in fact. science is the proces of challenge and discovery. It is only 'settled' when people like Gore and the congress decide it should be. Reminds me of the middle ages when church leaders decided the shape of the earth and 'settled' the science. What hogwash. The earth has been and will be both warmer and cooler than it is now. The carbon cycle is based primarily on the oceans and the weathering of limestone, and isn't anymore effected by our presence than by Al Gore's hot air. In the early middle ages it was warmer than it is now - I suppose it was all those monks in the praying position that made too many farts? And the Vikings settled Greenland around the year 1,000 when it was actually green - because it was warmer then than it is now. And as for the Chinese - they are developing and exporting 'green energy technology'....but for their domestic economy they are investing heavily in crude oil and coal - and it isn't 'clean coal' either.

Global warming is a hoax and it's all about the re-distribution of wealth and power. Gore himself has made hundreds of millions and stands to be a multi-billionare. And his family money came from .... yep... big oil. Wake Up !!!

Question: if Gore had been born in the late 19th century would that have saved the Titanic from sinking ? hee hee

I think every American should be required to have and carry 'papers' and be subject to challenge at any time by law enforcement for no reason at all. This is the only way we will resolve this issue. The only other option is to close the borders completely with wire, fences, troops, and unmaned surveillance drones that fire non-lethal ordinance at anything that crawls near the fence.

Call me whatever you want. Our citizens have a right to peace and protection from the anarchy going on in Mexico.

Once again, the republcians put politics ahead of country. This is an area in which we could actually lead the world, but our do nothing party on NO says NO again. We could create jobs, start to free ourselves from middle eastern oil and actually do something to combat climate change. Well, so much for that!

Quite ironic, that the far-right teabaggin' KKKlan has constantly spewed the same rants and labels of "communism," "marxism," and "socialism," only to support the biggest police state of the Communists or Nazis, as the moronic conservitard republiCONS passed an unconstitutional and racist piece of legislation designed to trample on American civil rights and freedoms.

SHOW YOUR PAPERS NOW!.............DISGUSTING!

Tom Friedman is right. The Republicans need to step up to the plate on this climate/green energy bill, or they embroil the nation in a false debate about a slap-dash immigration bill which will only further polarize our nation. The GOP can either play the spoiler, and reap the bitter consequences, or show some bi-partisanism and avoid something really ugly.

The Energy Bill - Cap & Trade (Crap & Tax) will make the United States the cleanest 3rd World Country. It will create more poverty, more crime and shortages of food and all consumable products. What's left of the middle class will be gone. Only the elites (Congress & Al Gore) will be able to afford gas, heating, air conditioning. Friedman has personal motives and will make a lot of $$$ if Cap & Trade gets passed. Typical corrupt, greedy, inside the beltway, out of touch critter.

"This is about politics, on both sides. Lindsey Graham? Shame on the Republican Party. There's one Republican for advancing green energy in this country? One Republican Senator dared step out? He's completely isolated, and the Democrats are worried about Harry Reid."

------------

I think that about sums it up.

No wonder Americans hate and distrust what passes for "government" these days.
