Comments on: Bachmann Offers Big Numbers, Little Proof

- I think it's quite obvious the Republicans are rallying around a strategy of attacking the president's policies by exaggerating government control in the new healthcare bill and throwing around words like "Tyranny" "big government" "government takeover". None of which is true. The insurance companies still handle insurance claims. Doctors still diagnose patients. What you do have is greater power in getting health insurance. You can't be denied for pre-existing conditions, you're kids can stay on your policy until they're 26, and the insurance companies must answer to a commission whenever they raise rates. None of that sounds threatening or even undesirable.

- Ms Bachmann is a dangerous person. Unfortunately she is a sitting Congress person. She incites and lies using her title and position to confuse the issue and no one calls her on it. So I will, Ms Bachmann, you are a liar and a fool. The problem is you don't care.

I like how you put quotes around "the law", "majority" and "president" as if they were those things in name only. HAHAHAHAHA I agree. So is it Castor or Chavez? Or are they indistinguishable? - Reply to this comment
- Why does this person get any air time? I could go on TV and make up a bunch of numbers, but I should expect more from elected officials.

- This is great. Finally more and more people are seeing just how low the republicans are willing to go. William Buckley never went this low or anywhere near it. At least he could reason and better than most.
Liberals created this country. If we had waited for the conservatives we would all still be kissing King george's rotten carcass - Reply to this comment
- Oh so NOW CBS is going to do indepth journalism? On comments made ad nauseum by Michele Bachmann? Not when the gov't was taking over the health care system? What a bunch of fluff. Do they really think Americans care what she is saying and it's possible inaccuracies compared to what's going on in DC? Oh wait Harry Smith is going to do a hard-hitting B-ball piece with BHO this week. Do you guys take cues from Chavez's media guidelines or Castro's?

- Men have been stigmatizing women for years regarding their ability to add and subtract. This article should be revised to concentrate on the salient and verifiable talking points that Ms. Bachman is trying to put forth instead of nailing her from a numerical standpoint, something seen in Democratic circles also. The COB number ultimately left out the Doctor's Fix which increased the deficit repercussion however unlike Ms. Bachman who allegedly made some unintentional errors, Democrats attempted to retain the original figure. Let's talk about the number of uninsured which will directly and willingly affect American tax bills. I have heard prominent Democrats from the top down give us anything from 30 million to 50 million. What's that about. The case Ms. Bachman is trying to bring out has nothing to do with math or an attempt to portray her as short of the facts. The American people do not want big government in their face or a nanny state. Our country was born and raised on the entrepreneurial spirit and right to freedom of movement, privacy and quiet enjoyment. End it this way, doctors are going to cause this bill to at the least be revised anyway, they will retire or take cash only and you are free to get reimbursed.
