The ongoing problems in Yemen are really nothing new. They are not a real game changer but they are just a new resurgence of an old problem. Yemen is unstable volatile country very similar to most of its neighbors in the Horn of Africa region. The larger issue here is the continuing dependence of the United States on imported OPEC oil from these unstable regions. The cruise missile and drone strikes in Yemen could turn into another war front for America. This is a new war front that we can not afford anymore. We have 10% unemployment with a budget deficit of $1.4 trillion and our national debt ceiling now is at $12.4 trillion. We can no longer sustain this expanded military activity. We have suffered 40,000 casualties and the war in Iraq is going to cost us $3 trillion in long term costs. Afghanistan will cost numerous hundreds of billions of dollars annually. Wake the hell up America. This is the price we pay for imported OPEC oil. Mark my words and place them in your brain. All that we are going to get by our continued dependence on imported OPEC oil is warfare, followed by violence, terrorism, and more warfare followed by ever more trillions of dollars added to our national debt. The boom bust cycle caused by the world oil market will continue to ravage our future economic growth. If we do not get rid of OPEC oil we will continue to suffer tens of thousands of casualties. The killing, the bleeding, and the dying are never going to stop. Bankruptcy of our economy is guaranteed. The 21st century is going to be owned by those countries that go beyond oil and develop their own green sources of energy. 20th century business models of imported OPEC oil are going to fail our country and our children miserably in the 21st century because they are totally unsustainable.

Not under orders of a Bishop, under the orders of the President of the United States, supported by damn near everyone in the country at the time and also the vast majority of the countries of the world. Jwesel my friend, you are a failure as a hate monger. And "drop kill" seriously? Your Persian/English translator needs an update.

You'll never eradicate terrorism as long as there is religions that can't co-exist with each other. That being said you also can't just sit by idly waiting for something to happen.

Yemen might be enemy territory, but attacks on that country are misconceived. Al Qada could easily launch terror ventures against NATO from there. If Yemen is invaded, A.Q. will move to surrounding countries for further safe haven. This war continuously expands due to inferior American tactics and reactionary policy.

Do we know whether Abdulmutallab had any Yemeni visas in his passport? Al-Qa'ida people don't always travel on the usual protocols. He could have just bribed his way in, or some Saudi al-Qa'ida financier or cleric (there are several) could have arranged illegal entry into Yemen for this guy.

Obama mentioned Yemen a week or two ago, he should have already been more careful about visitors from there, he seemed to know that Yemen was a terrorist jihad training site. I think Janet Napelatano (sp) or whoever is head of security needs to be replaced with someone more competent and proactive.

It is what Rice had to say about 9/11, there was no mention of time, place nor method. I guess when you are NSA, you need that kind of information to do your job.

The government pays companies to monitor these groups for signs of possible activity, yet when they found a video that was posted 4 days before Christmas telling these "soldiers" in Yemen to go after our airports, planes, residential areas, and our underground trains, telling them how easy the bombs are to make and telling them to hide them in their belts and electronic devices, they saw nothing suspicious enough to report. Do these companies really require times, dates, and locations before they take these threats serious, if so they are leaving the U.S. wide open for another series of attacks.
