- There are more good people with guns than bad people with guns
when the street war starts we should therefore win something. - Reply to this comment
- If a demented person with training were to open up on a NRA meeting, I think he/she would hit 25 to 50 people before the first weapon would be drawn and fired at the 'perp'. I hope and pray it never happens, but this world is full of surprises...
But I can almost guarantee some 'nut' will try.. - Reply to this comment

How many people can anyone kill with a baseball bat, hatchet, or knife in 2 mins. compared to a fire arm that can spew out 30 rounds or more in a fraction of a min?
My guess is it would not result in a massacre.

Statistically, my guess is that you are less likely to be killed by a fire arm that can spew out 30 rounds or more in a fraction of a min because these massacres are less likely than you think. - Reply to this comment
- Flashback: President Clinton Asks For $60 Million For 'Cops In Schools' Program
By John Nolte
Today, the same elite media who no doubt send their own kids to private schools that employ armed security, just can't stop howling ridicule at the NRA's idea to give every student in America those same protections. Because the NRA's idea is so appealing, as I write this, the media's going overboard, mocking it as bizarre, crazy, and out of touch.
In their zeal to rampage this left-wing agenda, the media has apparently forgotten that back in 2000, on the one-year anniversary of the Columbine shooting (which occurred with an assault weapons ban in place), President Clinton requested $60 million in federal money to fund a fifth round of funding for a program called "COPS in School," a program that does exactly what the NRA is proposing and the media is currently in overdrive mocking: ...
Huh, who would've thought ? I truly believe that the news media is the real problem. - Reply to this comment

- Does this mean criminals and psychos don't follow laws? It is time to wake up!! More laws won't solve Sh*T!! Criminals and evil people WILL obtain a weapon weather its through the black market or other means. We need to do a better job with crazies and vicious criminals!! Please open your eyes. Gun laws in NY and CT are some of the toughest in the NATION yet read the news!! We need a common sense approach to this issue not hysteria. Please.

- The wider public obviously needs to defend itself against gun addicts with semi-automatic slaughtering machines.
But defending the semi-automatic slaughtering machines is the mighty NRA which has way too many gun addicts and their gun pushers (merchants and gunmakers) who in turn buy too many crooked politicians (obviously compromising wider public safety).
Restrictions on smoking gradually came about because democracy finally overwhelmed pro-tobacco political corruption.
But smoking is mostly about self-inflicted harm, so smoking restrictions make less sense than restrictions against semi-automatic weapons.
The sooner the semi-automatic slaughtering machines are banned, the better.
Then maybe future sales of bullets (especially for handguns) could be stiffly taxed to help pay for all the massive security measures we need (although you can bet that the NRA would turn against that). - Reply to this comment
- Why hasn't anyone mentioned the blood on the hands of those who work in the firearms industry? Why are citizens "up in arms" and protesting the industry as a whole. Where does the President stand on this? How many jobs would be lost if semi-automatic weapons were banned?

- The key word of the Headline is "Weapons" , well I like most do not want weapons to in the hands of people , but I have no issues with guns in the hands of responsible gun owners , so since these type of ar15 rifles are ID by the NRA as weapons than they should be banned .
