Since when do facts and/or reality matter to Americans?
- Women who have suffered legitimate rape can "turn it off"
- Earth is 9000 years old and evolution is "straight from the pit of hell"
- Slavery was a "blessing in disguise"
- All Muslims should be deported

Welcome to the eleventh century.

When will the endless drivel stop flowing from the ideologues and social miscreants that inhabit Washington? The truly frightening thing is that WE pay these idiots to tell us this non sense and they are so caught up in their delusions and insulated by cronies that they believe their own version.

There certainly is a market for the perverted logic spewing out from the White House but once you get past the low brow audience they attract there is a whole nation screaming back - shut up and get out.

This morning we heard a new version of the 20% tax cut. Now Mitt will only cut taxes as much as the Congress will agree to close loopholes. If there are no closed loopholes, then no tax cuts. So the question then becomes, how will he grow jobs? We are left with the Bush tax cuts that have been in effect for the past decade and they haven't worked very well because employment is now what it was in 2001.

On the cost savings side, Mitt wants to raise military spending by 2 trillion. We learned at the debate that he wants to put more money into education. He doesn't want to touch Medicare for 10 years so that the pain will not happen until after he leaves office (convenient, right?). As much as Mitt joked about PBS, that is about the only spending cut that he actually warms up to. (Except for maybe Amtrack which primarily serves blue states).

So if Mitt gets his way next year, revenue stays where it is, we add $250B in military cuts back in, we eliminate Obamacare which adds another $100B to the deficit. What am I missing here?

Oh dear it's the classic response of the fossilized right-wing status quo: Create a grotesquely distorted caricature, broadcast the delusion at the top of your lungs, and hope that you manage to reinforce just enough cynicism and hopelessness to ensure the election of someone who truly cares only for funneling all of the country's wealth and power into the hands of a tiny, corrupt elite.

Hopefully we can get the Republicans back into power in 2012. Then we'll be set with another couple of unfunded wars, unfunded tax cuts, unfunded increases to Medicare, and of course some rigorous right-wing ideological views to keep the Christian Conservatives happy.

No but really...Republicans have turned out to be torture for our great country....and it will be a long while before I vote for one. I do know that Americans deserves to have in place regulations and laws to protect from the burdens of greed on our society. I'm not going to touch a Republican with a 10 ft stick. Republicans are poison. They might be able to rouse the bigots and some religious zealots telling other who they can marry but the Republican policies of lowering taxes and deregulating have unequivocally failed all but maybe 5% of Americans.

How did Bushy boy's big fat sloppy kiss to the wealthy work out in creating jobs? The answer, of course, is zilch.

Like every Republican, Romney wants to protect the rich and preserve every possible tax break and loophole that benefits him and the other robber barons. Their trickle-down philosophy has been refuted repeatedly yet they continue beating the dead horse myth that they are the "job creators." Ordinary Americans with money in their pockets and disposable income create jobs, not the super-rich parasites like Mitt and Ann. Wake up America, before these oligarchs destroy any chance for ordinary people to make any real progress.

Please... Conservatives and Republicans are the biggest fakes the world has ever known. Republicans don't really care about spending. Republicans only care about money that we spend on education and healthcare (things that actually improve society).....but spending three trillion dollars we borrow from China on unnecessary war in Iraq.....Halliburton and Karl Marx approved! 4500 dead Americans and 100,000+ innocent Iraqi civilians' deaths later and now Republicans care about "life"? I think not.....

Republicans don't actually stand for anything, and funny thing is, no one asks them to. Especially their hacks in the payola media, and the people who vote for them. It's time America votes in the Democrats to send the Republicans a message; it's time to get real.

Barrack Obama isn't perfect, but he is a thousand times the man Romney will ever be. This time around, Obama and Democrats get my vote, the choice is simple. For the love of country and all people; register to vote and vote as much as you can!
