- During the highly touted Reagan administration, interest rates on home mortgages were as high as 13% (1983). Many seem to have forgotten that. The current economic woes cannot be fixed quickly, for they were many years in the making before President Obama took office. Little will continue to happen on Capitol Hill until a true collaboration among all occurs.

- I heard Face the Nation this morning and noticed the Bob Schiefer made the statement the the White House did not tell the truth at first about the Libyan bombing. I have noticed that most news stations are promoting the story that the President was not truthful. We listeners KNOW what Susan Rice said. She said "from the information received..." She went on to say that an investigation was ongoing. The White House cannot state rumor as fact as most commentators do. When reporting this story, CBS and CNN anchors all week have not correctly stated the original position of the White House. Most American viewers are not stupid and they realize when reporters manipulate the news.

- Why was Michelle Rhee a guest on FACE THE NATION? Why was she introduced as the former Chancellor of DC schools with no mention of the cheating scandal on tests? Lying through omission?
Rhee is fleecing the public with deceptive claims using the liberal Care2 site to glean email addresses to appeal for funds. Rhee has a goal of collecting $1 Billion in donations. Rhee has just renovated her Sacramento office at the cost of $1million.
Rhee adds nothing to the debate, what are her solutions? Yes schools need improvement this has been the mantra for decades and will continue as education evolves. She is aligned with Devious Jeb Bush and Rupert Murdoch. Murdoch stated education is a $500 billion a year untapped market. They are all driven by greed promoting the use of vouchers and charter schools using public funds for private school profit. Their goal is to segregate and destroy public schools. - Reply to this comment

- Bob,
To your comment that voters don't like Romney/Ryan's proposed changes (i.e., voucher) even though it won't affect them personally, this is incorrect!
Their proposed changes affect LOTS of American's personally - all those now under age 55 - and those who are actually unselfish enough to care about their children! - Reply to this comment
- Hedrick Smith, author of Who Stole the American Dream did VERY well on the program. He talked about the U.S. having a $6 trillion trade deficit while Germany had a $2 trillion trade surplus over the last 10 years.
Germany has more than 20% of their workers in manufacturing, while the U.S. has just over 10%. Labor and management work together in Germany. I know the auto unions have a seat on the board at auto companies, that helps them work together better. - Reply to this comment
- So what is Obama's plan for salvaging Medicare for future generations? Obama and the Democrats plan is to manipulate senior citizens by propagating falsehoods and scare tactics against the Republican plan and let Medicare freefall into a full crisis mode where they will then use that to take advantage of the frenzied American public. They are telegraphing their devious strategy! Wake up!!!

- Regarding Hedrick Smith speaking on "Who Stole the American Dream?", Smith is a veteran investigative reporter and Pulitzer Prize winner. He gave a talk on the the destruction of the middle-class - how it happened, and what to do about it, this past weekend. I posted a video of that talk, here: http://8020vision.com/2012/09/24/hedrick-smith-who-stole-the-american-dream/
