Cutter laid it out perfectly. Romney signature was on documents sent to the SEC in 2001 but he is telling the American people that he left Bain in 1999. Something is amiss here and only Romney can clear it up. The truth is hidden in his tax returns because he knows that his returns for those years are going to reveal his title at Bain as well as show that he was collecting a salary from Bain. Americans should know these facts before the election because America doesn't need another Richard Nixon type scandal in the White House.

Romney is a horribly flawed candidate but he outspent the other guys, so by Republican rules he wins. We'll see if the same rules apply to the nation come Nov.

Romney took a six figure salary and, on top of that, made a huge amount of profit from the hundreds of millions of dollars Bain made in 1999 to 2002 from its business dealings in that period. He signed legal documents testifying he was the "sole director," CEO, "sole stockholder," and president of Bain during this period. And he claims now he had "nothing whatsover" to do with Bain in this period.

He is ABSOLUTELY LYING. Mitt, stop denying it. You are SO transparently dishonest. Look at all the times you have been on boths sides of issues: abortion, gay rights, climate change, gun control, cap and trade. Name the issue, and you have probably been on both sides. Who can believe you now? Pardon me if I can't.

Do we really want a president who will take the job, allow others to do his work, collect the salary and benefits - and then tell us a decade later that he reallty wasn't president at all?

We had a president like that - his name was Bush.

I really have a problem with anyone who can't answer a straight forward question. Mr Madden who said American's are not interested in the Bain controversy and the tax returns of Mr. Romney is so wrong. I want to know and so do a good many other people. If there is nothing to hide, what is the problem. Mr Romney is creating his own problems. The water suddenly is getting very murky and that makes me believe there are things he is hiding and this problem he has can be remedied by disclosing everything, until then I have to believe he was still at Bain as the documents portray and there are problems with the tax returns.

*zing*

If Romney is now delegating managerial duties, not only does that make him a poor manager as he's supposed to be in charge of the one's delegating his work to, but why does he not even mention the person Romney is trying to pin?

Great job, Romney, keep it up...

Madden's response also glosses over how all of the job losses here, which includes offshoring, created those deficits and his party is responsible as well. Let's see a small reminder of some of the issues:

"Voted NO on repealing tax subsidy for companies which move US jobs offshore."

Wow, welfare for corporations gutting this country and its workers. Charming. Yes, some Democrats also voted NO, but Obama voted YES, which is one solid reason to stand behind Obama.

Note the name McConnell and then read this:

http://thinkprogress.org/politics/2011/04/14/158424/republican-leaders-debt-limit-hypocrisy/

Ouch.

Madden does raise real points, especially about the workers, but let's see politicians look at BOTH political parties' actions... and the lobbyists that helped create today's economic landscape for workers. And, as it stands, Obama comes in first place in reminding people of the list of issues, and enough of those articles are sufficiently recent that I don't need to post those links, followed by Ron Paul (ditto). Everybody else doesn't even show up on the radar.

The criticisms of Romney ARE valid and justifiable. Sorry Madden. You need to find a different criticism to exploit.

I take what money I have and deposit it in my local credit union or bank. I don't put it in a Swiss bank account or a Cayman Island account. There is a reason Romney did these things. His tax returns will tell why. That is why he doesn't want to release them.

He also falsified his role at Bain Capital, either to the Securities and Exchange Commission or to the American people. It's pretty simple, really.
