Vague, my eye.
Each-A-Sketch told us exactly what he would do about taxes.
Believe in America (page 154)
59 Policy Proposals That Will Get America Back To Work
1. Maintain current tax rates on personal income
2. Maintain current tax rates on interest, dividends, and capital gains
3. Eliminate taxes for taxpayers with AGI below $200,000 on interest, dividends, and capital gains
4. Eliminate the death tax
5. Pursue a conservative overhaul of the tax system over the long term that includes lower, flatter rates on a broader base
6. Reduce corporate income tax rate to 25 percent
7. Pursue transition from "worldwide" to "territorial" system for corporate taxation

How on earth is Mitt going to reconcile #5 "a flatter tax rate" with keeping the "progressivity" of the current system? No wonder Mitt was "vague".

Now, anyone care to explain how Romney will create jobs by privatizing AmTrak?

More to support what the occupy movement for many people is really about, only the richest having preffered access to those in congres. This is waht happens when the government panders only to the rich.

I listened to the news piece and conversation with Bob Schieffer and noticed that the reporter mentioned the unemployment rate for each state on the bus tour and the comment that it was lower than the national average. I don't understand that information.

If I live in one of those states with an unemployment rate of say 7.5% or 7.8% and I need a job, but can't find one is he telling me that Governor Romney's message of jobs should not influence me or apply to my state? Very odd and biased reporting if you ask me.

When the President went and will go to those same states will this reporter decide that the economy doesn't matter because the unemployment rate is 'good enough?'

How disappointing. I expected a real and informative questioning of the candidate. The entire discussion regarding the President's recent stance on deportation of certain young people was no more than a soft pitch opportunity for Romney to make a campaign speech. Has Mr. Schieffer not heard of the Dream Act? Romney was allowed to repeatedly state that the President had made no effort to pass a long term solution to the problem. A simple reference to the Dream Act would have forced Romney to come up with a real response and not just more campaign platitudes.

Okay Mitt-whit, so what "spending" are you going to cut to bring the deficit in-line without raising taxes? Defense? Medicare? Social Security? Oh, that's right you're going to fire tens of thousands of government employees. That will certainly help the economy by adding all these people to the unemployment line... As that old Wendy's commercial use to say "WHERES THE BEEF?"
