- Well let me see ? Egypt,Libya, Syria, Iran and N.Korea all disasters, giving in to Russia one everything and getting one thing right following the Bush Doctrine and policies and Using the Navy seals to get Osama bin Ladin but then outing the Hero doctor who helped us. I would say all in all Obama has been a total failure ./

- "..It's not great for changing the nature of a society,"
How are you going to change the nature of a society with military action? The only change I can see is the society hates you for generations. This is what President Obama is trying to avoid, get the bad guys without creating eternal hate. - Reply to this comment
- Obama should be applauded for the use of drones and high tech. However, we must put things in perspective. Many things have changed since 9/11. We have better intelligence, better security and better technology. This has evolved over time and began after 9/11 with President Bush. Think for a moment. A few years ago, you didn't see Ipads in millions of homes. Most people still used desktop computers. That is an example of evolving technology. Ten years ago, how many drones did the United States have? Obama is the recipient of the drive to create the technology and intelligence that started in earnest before he became president. If you know anything about WWII, the United States was not prepared for war. After Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, we quickly geared up for war producing the guns, tanks, and batteships needed to be successful during WWII. A similar thing happened after 9/11.

- President Obama did not have friends in the defense industry whose pockets needed to filled with US tax payer's money. Therefore he could easily use the top US technology effectively. People just want to write
books to make money and I am not surprised that they have chosen to give this policy a name "Obama's Doctrine"
According to me these people should call this foreign policy " An effective use of use technology and intelligence in new foreign policy". - Reply to this comment
- Those who believe that Obama is the first president who has used technology and drones to fight wars against terrorism know nothing about CIA. CIA has been using these tactics for many decades. However, under Obama we are using these effectively, and the credit goes to intelligence being gathered now. The job of our president is to protect this country, and Obama has done a great job. He has not been filling the pockets of his friends like George Bush was doing.

- Any "foreign policy" OTHER than NO foreign policy is bad. We have our own issues; we can't keep paying the way for foreigners. Besides, they all hate us anyway and just take advantage of us. As long as there IS any "foreign policy" I will complain.

- Barack Obama has no idea what he's doing. Eisenhower stood up to the generals, Obama just caves. All of South America is in open revolt against his antiquated conservative policies. Declaring every male who gets killed in a drone strike a "militant" is beneath contempt. Putin won't even show up to talk to him. He's a brown-skinned Jimmy Carter. Nice guy -- no business being President. Go back teaching school where nobody will get killed.

- Leftism's tolerance of Obama as a war machine is as obvious as it's tolerance of Clinton's acts with Monica Lewinsky. You had all these feminists saying nothing then about Clinton - and they've said nothing about Obama's war activities either. They've never protested ANY war activity and attached Obama's name to it. None. Because their lover boy's in charge. Similarly, their aversion to Bush personally was their sole reason for pretending to be appalled by war victims before.

- It's wise to employ technology when possible, as opposed to fighting wars. At some point, the U.s may end up engaging the Iranians militarily, but that should be THE absolute last resort. The president is also right in not being quick to commit the United States to murky situations when we don't have a direct national security threat posed against us.The U.S. would probably always be there to lend our support in situations, such as Syria's; but we can't take on full-scale wars nor military involvement in every conflict-especially right now, when our military is worn thin, and we are facing economic problems at home that will most likely result in deep budget cuts.
