Another borrow and spend hypocrite Republicon complaining about the debt because they have nothing else to offer mankind. They want to run government so they can maximize riches for their 1% masters at the expense of everyone else.

I can't believe people are STILL stupid enough to fall for their lying, twisted and failed ideas. On top of that they are all fake Christians that would have been hated and feared by Jesus Christ. They are disgusting excuses for humans.

He has some of the best insight on Capitol Hill. The positive thing he mentions of doing what is in the best interest of the country rather than the best interest of their party is what sets apart statesmen from politicians.

It's the same-o, GOP Tea Party Gloom, Doom, Sky is Falling talk.
Last summer was a warm-up this event. The GOP Tea Party is determined to bring down our economy and country.....That is the wish of the GOP Tea Party and this time they may get it. They continue to play games.....insisting for more drastic cuts...few would disagree their point..YET, THEY INSIST ON PROTECTING THE 1 %.
The American voters have the most disdain for the GOP TEA Party today...Let them go ahead and bankrupt our country....and they will regret their actions. As soon as they do it..NO Americans voter will ever support the Republican again....but, for the Tea Party members and they will be scorned by everyone in America.

Keep on offshoring jobs and giving handouts to the corporations doing so... meanwhile, China also mewls over the trade imbalance, which was also caused in part by offshoring jobs...

Darned if the US does and darned if it doesn't...

"You can have a great legal case for suing the rating agencies for not downgrading us again because we have not demonstrated the political will to solve the problems,"

Absolutely correct.

What you and your fellow repubs HAVE demonstrated is a determination that it all be put on the middle class's back.

So my suggestion is instead of asking people running for election to sign a pledge of not raising taxes, the voters ask them to sign a pledge to work together to solve this problem.

Senator Coburn's claim that corporations are sitting on trillions of dollars because they lack confidence in the economy is absurd. In the first half hour of the first day of Economics 101, you are taught about the law of supply and demand. Corporations are sitting on cash because there's no demand. When there's demand for their goods and services, they will certainly spend their money to optimize revenues. Senator Coburn's comment is indicative of the kind of ignorance in Washington these days.

Senator Coburn's statement that corporations are sitting on trillions of dollars because they lack confidence in the economy is astonishing. In the first half hour of the first day of Economics 101, you are taught about the law of supply and demand. That money is not being invested because there's no demand. The Senator's belief in the confidence fairy is appalling. The policies of the prior administration undermined the economy and consumer demand. The Republicans have refused to allow the Federal government to compensate for this lack of demand. And leaders like Senator Coburn say it's a lack of confidence. I think what's lacking is common sense and an understanding of fundamental economics among leaders like the Senator.
