- is it just me or is this bozo trying to create a Jedi word puzzle that means nothing but that the faithful will nod their heads and say YES, Lord. i mean no disrespect to faith but "missing piece of intensity". it's balderdash, hooey and just plain double speak for nothing. gosh!

- One American- I'm curious- do you do research before spouting off? Or do you just assume that something is in the constitution because you think it should be?
You, like every religious loon I've ever met, are wrong. Why don't you go climb back into your cave, read your bible, and leave the sane world alone? We really don't want to hear the ravings of a lunatic. The days of the 3 religions of Abraham are numbered. People are becoming more aware every day just how crazy you Christians, Jews and Muslims are. - Reply to this comment
- Why is CBS News quoting the head of the Family Research Council, which is on the same list of hate groups as the KKK? Someone who constantly cites fabricated information? This doesn't speak well for journalistic integrity. The KKK does not balance out the NAACP; the FrC has no standing in this discussion.

- So, Obama's support for marriage equality offends the fundamentalists. Were large numbers of them previously undecided?
Gay marriage is just one of those wedge issues that tend to split the population down the middle and big media love to exploit conflict because it generates endless political campaigns and, now, unlimited cash dedicated to advertising. NEWSWEEK is going to run a cover calling Obama the country's "first gay president." This is just shameless sensationalism. We're being subjected to propaganda that goes beyond spin to outright false and misleading attitudinal attacks and provocation. - Reply to this comment
- Another reminder the Romney/Republican/Tparty is the party of hate pandering to the religion of hate. So called "Evangelicals" should spend less time worrying about other peoples values and more time worrying about their own value of hate and discrimination.
Evangelicals are among the highest divorce rate of any group including non religious. So much for family values but obviousely the value of hypocrisy among the right wing is alive and well. - Reply to this comment
- Tony Perkins is the leader of a group that the Southern Poverty Law Center has deemed a hate group-on par with the KKK & the American National Socialist Party (Nazis). They quote psychologists whose research is out of the mainstream American Psychological Association.
He and his group believe that gays & lesbians are not only "sinners", but are also mentally disturbed. His group also supports so called reparative therapy, taking gay teens from their parents and putting them into "straight bootcamps". Pray away the gay and worse.
Why CBS and other media outlets continue to put on the leader of a hate group is beyond reason. Kind of like putting on Mayans on to explain astrophysics. Are these media companies only serving up a helping of distention for cheap ratings? - Reply to this comment
- Denying fellow Americans their right to marry will certainly activate a base but a base of what - bigots? Keep in mind that denying civil rights to African Americans was a largely religious issue in the 50's and 60's. If people like Perkins have their way, gays won't be able to marry, adopt children, serve in the military and we extrapolate the actions against Romney aide Grenell, won't even be able to hold a job. It makes me think of one of their own lines - what would Jesus do? Not what they are.

- Intensity like those Rebs that wanted to go to war to preserve slavery I guess they were pretty intense although we Yankees gave them the smackdown they needed and deserved. Course they still haven't gotten over it either from what I see.

- Is America really going to vote for an anti-gay marriage president?

- WHY DO YOU NOT REPORT THAT PERKINS IS A LEADER OF A RECOGNIZED HATE GROUP.
