- I do not wear my religion on my sleeve and I come from a religious family. I attended a Catholic high school and university. Religion has played a major role in my upbringing.
I agree with Republicans on many issues...
...except for one big one...
...I will NEVER have anything to do with the religious right and given their dominance over the Republican party and veto power over its candidates for public office, I will NEVER be a Republican. - Reply to this comment
- I wish Richard Land would share with us his thoughts on Joseph Smith Jr. Will Richard Land become a Book of Mormon thumper, or will he expose Joseph Smith Jr. for a snake-oil salesman? What are his thoughts on a person who bought the snake-oil? A big dilema for the Christian conservatives, to be sure!

- How come no one asks Newt or Ron Paul to quit? What a bonehead he must be scared of Santorum

- The 800 pound gorilla in the room everyone ignored is the reason why they all agree that there should be a separation of church and state. The Roman Catholic Church ruled Europe with an iron fist for about three hundred years and dominated the politics and kingdoms under threat of excommunication and eternal damnation. Countless thousands of Jews and Christians were burned at the stake as heretics or tortured to death. The Grand Inquisition of Spain struck fear and terror into the hearts of the populace. The RCC initiated religious wars that lasted centuries, right down to the "troubles" in Northern Ireland. The RCC launched the bloody crusades that murdered, raped, and pillaged. So, there was ample example of what no rational human desires to see ever see visited upon the earth again.

- Strange how religious leaders back Republicans, yet also enjoy tax free status. And the GOP has the gall to complain about the "unfair" backing of unions or the (so-called) "liberal media".

- Are these people kidding me or what? I'm no Santorum fan but i thought in America you can chase your dreams and ambitions without getting pressured and ridiculed for doing so. Todays Republican party is being brought down a path from it's leaders that is getting more and more radical and ugly by the minute.

- I was so incensed by Richard Land's outrageous pretzel 'logic' that I felt compelled to look up this site so I could say something. How ironic that the most Christ-like persona on that panel was the gay man and the least christ-like was the oily, slippery self-serving, outrageously lying fat Baptist. ( My comment has nothing to do with Baptist, so everyone calm down) But for that man to try and claim the left is dominated by the church leanings and the right is more secular than the Dems is ludicrous. It belies the rightwing mantra, led by Land & his religious peers, that the left is composed of the 'godless socialists' and that secular humanism, led by the left , is ruining this country.
Sorry buddy, can't have it both ways. Andrew Sullivan nailed Land to the wall, despite Land's rude attempt to talk over him, and Sullivan, as do his articles & other interviews, speaks to a deep personal faith, which makes it that much more compelling. Contrasted to the oily salesman-ship of Land, who use his 'faith' as a step ladder to more secular power. If Jesus came back today, Land & his ilk would have a lot of explaining to do.
Land disgusted & revolted me. - Reply to this comment
- Hate to break it to you Santorum..but the Fundamentalists..Baptists, Pentecostals and those crazies HATE you...You know why?? Because you identify as CATHOLIC..they are Fundamentalist PROTESTANTS for a reason..in fact they hate Catholics, Jews, Muslims..actually any other religion..in fact they hate each other!..The pompous Baptists and Pentecostals have been going at it for decades...So Santotrum; go back to worshipping Mary and spreading your hate for fellow man; because you'll never be President!...and thank Mary for that!

- Listening to Mr. Land I am reminded yet again that people who call themselves christians can be the biggest liars around. As a result, I continue to believe that if churches should be taxed. I'm sorry but Mr. Sullivan, Sally Quinn, and the Rabbi have it right.
I wish I could have seen this segment on tv but unfortunately my local CBS station decided to replace it with paid programming; something they are doing more and more. - Reply to this comment
- Why is this not getting into politics and why do they still have a tax exemption??
