- As the number of Catholic worshippers dwindles worldwide...the church will launch an aggressive recruiting drive...
"And...for a limited time folks, if you sign up right away for the all-inclusive DELUXE PARISHONER PACKAGE, you'll only have to obey FIVE of the Ten Commandments..."
"AND...for a small additional charge, you'll get to pick which five...
BUT HURRY...forgiveness, absolution and redemption won't be available long at these incredibly low prices...
"SO ACT NOW...and astonish your friends with your completely reconditioned, new super-clean soul...BUT HURRY...this could be your last chance to purchase salvation and to reserve a choice location in Heaven"
(batteries for optional angel's wings and flashing neon halo not included...easy payment plans are available)
*****************************
The Catholic Church may update it's marketing strategy from time to time...but the original scam and their extortionate sales pitch never changes...
"We are the ONLY way for you to gain access to God, so if you don't join us now, you'll burn in hell for all eternity... will that be cash or credit card?" - Reply to this comment
- I'm so sick of these Catholic MALE bishops expecting this country to follow whatever they say! This country IS NOT a catholic-based country. WE have many religions and to allow Catholics to decide the fate of women across this country was and is a serious mistake. We should have NEVER allowed any religion to dictate how women get access to health care. This War on Women will coma back to bite them. 98% of all women use BC for many different reasons and for the the Catholics to push their antiquated ideas on this country really infuriates me!

- Dolan will not know intrusion if it bite him in the behind. All churches are given exception. However, if the church decide to go into business, they should play by the same rules as everyone else. Dolan's intrusion into politics is a threat to the healthcare needs of women across the country. The assumption that women who takes contraceptive are loose is irresponsible. Contraceptive is one of the primary tools for family planning. A vast majority of married women uses contraceptives. In my opinon, the church is overstepping his band by ignoring the fact that this decision need to be left to women. I don't see the church fighting over men's access to viagra. Please, don't give me the crap about religous freedom.

- No President in history has launched the kind of all out attack that Obama has on the Catholic Church and Christianity in General. Its almost impossible to believe, but then this week Obama launched an attack on the Supreme Court. Clearly Obama wants the Government to be all powerful, and feels he has to diminish, intimidate, or destroy any institution with the authority or power to oppose him. We won't know until June whether Obama has succeeded in intimidating the Justices of the Court. However, the Catholic Church and Christianity have survived monsters like Nero, Hitler, and Stalin. They will survive Obama no matter what he does to destroy them, but many may suffer in the meantime!

- I was brought up Catholic --- The Catholic Church has no authority to tell anyone, whether or not they should use, or not use contraception --- neither does the Govt. During the Spanish Inquisition the Church murdered and tortured untold numbers of infidels who would not bow to the papacy. Recently the dirty little secret of widespread pedophilia in the Church has been exposed. Anyone who follows any man other than Christ himself is open to mind control. Institutions are very good at that kind of propaganda and stripping of individuality in favor of directing the masses into herds.

- Dolan and the Catholic church is trying to force "not using contraceptives" on their employees at non church businesses, such as hospitals. Their doctrine is fine for their churches, and parishiners, they choose to follow this doctrine, but most parishiners simply chose to use contraceptives without telling anyone. It is a very long stretch from voluntary compliance of their doctine, to forcing that doctrine on others because they work at a Catholic hospital.
The radical intrusion is by Dolan and other religious leaders for interfering in government, and the health care needs of others. - Reply to this comment
- What a major blunder by Obama, first he leads Dolan to believe everything is ok and then throws the Catholic Church under the bus by forcing them and other religions to pay for contraception even though most are self funded insurances. Maybe this administration doesn't understand what that is. Two weeks ago Friday there were over 100 rallies nationwide to support the Catholic Church and other religions to protect their religious freedom. I happened to be in Sarasota Fl and there were over 1,000 folks at the rally to support the Church. This movement is growing and will prove to be a major blunder by Obama, and will have an impact in a number of key states with a high percentage of Catholics.

- When Jesus was here the first time His disdain wasn't for common sinners or even the Romans, but for the Scribes and Pharisees, the religious who use God to increase their own power and benefit themselves instead of others. I wouldn't be surprised if the same thing happens again when He returns.

- The following article also points out that when religious restrictive hospitals merge with non-restricted facilities that often the non-restricted facilities adopt the religious restrictions. Some laws and practices are denying that very important information about those restriction changes to the patients that frequent those facilities.
Once again RELIGIOUS RESTRICTIONS are impacting more and more members with other religious affiliations because of the ever increasing numbers of administrators interfering in an individual's doctor - patient relationship.

- Cardinal Dolan's view as to who started the fight over contraception is not supported by certain facts.
In 1988, Congress (with affirmative votes by Republicans John Boehner, Mitch McConnel, Newt Gingerich and Roy Blunt) passed legislation requiring that companies providing health insurance for members of Congress, their families and federal employees generally must include contraceptive coverage. The Congress has subsequently passed similar legislation on several occasions. To my recollection this legislation was not the subject of protest by Catholic leaders. The protests did not come until a Democratic President proposed the same policy for all Americans. To my mind, Cardinal Dolan's remarks appear more grounded in politics than religion.
