Dear Mr. Schieffer, Your interview with Michele Bauchman was disgraceful! Where were all those "hard ball" questions when it came to interviewing Barack Hussein Obama? You people even admitted that you didn't know who he was and refused to ask any hard ball questions. She answered your questions, problem is you and all your cronies in the "main stream media" don't have a clue where this country is headed. But don't worry, WE THE PEOPLE do have a clue. We're awake and aware and God willing aim to stop you and your biased, anti-conservative, liberal movement in your tracks! You see, here in America, IN GOD WE STILL TRUST!

Mr. Schieffer,
At the end of your show today, you essentially blamed our entire education mess on your assessment that they just do not get enough pay. I live in Oregon where we spend far more on teachers and cost per student than many states that have considerably superior test results from their high school graduates. In addition the teachers union has become and unsustainable drain on the taxpayer. There is a widespread pervasive "PC" attitude in this country combined with agenda based school boards and loss of discipline that is at the root of this issue - not a lack of teacher pay. If we do not change to performance based teaching standards and eliminate tenure and union chokeholds, we will continue to dumb down our societies children.

You also totally gave Chuck Schumer a pass on the issues you discussed. The Democrats had the Presidency, and both the House and Senate for 2 years and virtually did nothing but spend, spend, spend. WHat he was taking about to stimulate jobs is and was pathetic and it will not make a difference. Where has infrastructure spending been for the last 2.5 years????? I am a suffering small business owner and to me, there is absolutely no question that overregulation (to include taxation and union control) by both Federal and State government is a huge burden in America and has probably been responsible for more jobs leaving our shores than anything else.

Regards,
Gary Dillon

Mr, Shieffer,

I can see your point that Washington is, in many ways, a big High School, butit is the High School that makes the laws that we must all live buy. But I also think it is less of a case of High School type behavior and more a case of what I would call "Ethical bankruptcy". Personally, I really couldn't care less what any political candidate or figure does, how he / she does it, or what they do it with in what position, and if they video tape it. What I DO care about is being able to trust the person to tell the truth about what they do.

I long ago came to the realization that I am electing a mortal with Mortal failing; not beatifying a Saint or installing a God from Olympus. But, when you prove that you will repeatedly lie and try to blame others for your personal gain (or protection) what else will you lie about? Maybe Campaign Funding? How about who paid you to vote a certain way? Did you take favors and cash from that person? Once you start down that road, the only place you can end up is as a John Edwards, Duke Cunningham, or Jack Abramoff.

When I was in the Marine Corps almost 45 years ago, one of my leadership manuals defined integrity as:

"Integrity is what you are when no one is looking; it is what you are when no one but you will ever know."

The true problem that we have with Washington and elected officials, et. al., is a primary lack of integrity. They believe that if I lie about something and get away with it, then it's OK. The same is true with CEO's, graduate students that cheat on their thesis or dissertation data results, or new hires that lie on their resume to get the job. Once you start, you can't stop.

I really don't care what he does on Facebook while wearing just his skivvies. What I can't abide is that when it came out into the light, he Lied about it initially, he was caught in the lie, and then he tried to blame it on someone else. When he was caught in the lie again he came clean only when he had nowhere else to run.

My problem with the Washington mentality and Rep. Weiner in particular is that he chose to lie knowing that it would come out eventually. Then, when caught, he chose to lie again and this time try to blame comeone else. He has been in Washington long enough to know that it would eventually come out. He knew he would be caught and did it anyway because he felt as a congressman that he was above the rules that everyone else has to live under. Is this the type of person that you want writing the ethics, consumer protection, banking, or real estate regulating laws? Isn't that is why we currently have the best government that money can buy. It is like John Edwards said;

" After a while in Washington, with everyone telling you how important and special you are, you begin to believe it. Then you start thinking that the rules don't apply to you. I am a member of Congress, I'm above the law."

Isn't that what happened to Randy "Duke" Cunningham; A Navy hero that went to congress and ended up in prison for taking bribes from lobbyist and defense contractors? I personally can't support someone (Republican or Democrat) that gets caught over and over in a lie for personal gain or protection. It's like the Scots say:

"Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me!"

If we are ever going to have a chance to clean up government, first we have to get some integrity back into the system. From where I am sitting, I don't see much of it right now; from either party.

Mr. Shieffer,
I enjoy watching your show on Sunday morning. (Because I flip between "Face the Nation" and "Meet the Press"), today, June 12, I returned to your show to hear you talking about public schools and Anthony Weiner. I totally agree with what you said about cliques and students wanting to be accepted.

As far as why it took so long for democrats to ask Mr. Weiner to step down, maybe they were hoping he'd do it willingly, so as to avoid more embarrassment. Although I'm a conservative, I feel that, early on, many democratic members of Congress did express their disapproval of his behavior. That's just my opinion.

Mr. Shieffer, I think its time for you to retire! You should be ashamed of yourself!I was appalled at your interview with Gingrich. I am not a fan of his but you were out of line with your "Tiffany questions". He is an American citizen just like me and we can spend our money any way we wish . He has done nothing wrong ! Maybe you should be asking some other people like Tim Geightner who is watching our treasury money and is a tax cheat! You have become very biased . I thought at one time you were a good journalist , but you have joined the "main stream biased media." It is apparent that you need to find new work !
I will no longer listen or watch you....it is very sad . I feel sorry that you are now drinking the kool-aid ! You should be ashamed !!!!
Sincerely,
Nancy from NJ

Bob Schieffer FOR PRESIDENT.
He asks the tough questions, even if the interviewee thinks he is King Bully (Newt, the donald, the blade Man Mitch Daniels, Cheny Oil, Rummie the Defense Boss).
He interacts well with Generals, Prime Ministers, Queens, Presidents, Congressional Leaders--and is not afraid to ask any of them the hard questions which he has researched well in his preparation for the task at hand.
Yet, he seems like a real citizen as he asks questions that matter to all of us.
He is extremely intelligent, gracious, and well-respected by peers and citizens.

PLEASE GIVE HIM A LEAVE OF ABSENCE AND INSIST THAT HE RUN FOR PRESIDENT.
We need a true INDEPENDENT, intelligent voice of reason with a sound background in Democracy, The Bill of Rights, and government accountability leading the country instead of a member of the Demo/Repub Plutocracy Club.

Please!

Regards,

Ann Miller

Shieffer- Have you apologized to Palin and the tea party for falsely implying that they were responsible for the Tucson shootings? You are just another Obama political hack that wouldn't know honest journalism if it hit you in your biased arse.
