I''ll tell you what happened to the GOP:

They are a bunch of sorry a$$ loosers who will blame everyone else but themselves. Hypocrites all and the American people can finally see through them.
Here is a small example: they [GOP] talking of "family values" so, here comes moos-hunting mama with her pregnant, unmarried daughter on stage and the republicans cheered her like a star was born. Now let''s put the foot in the other shoe and prettend thet Michelle O was in that picture. Well.....I''ll let you finish the rest of the thought!!!!!!

Don''t get too mesmerized by Bobby Jindal. Just ask we the people of Louisiana. When the LA State Legislators gave themselves huge raises that made them the highest paid in the U.S., Jindal stood by and let them rape the LA taxpayers. It wasn''t until Recall Petitions were circulated to remove Jindal from office that he finally stepped forward (with his back to the wall) to veto the raises.

I guess I remember that I am a little incorrect.
Some of those guys did serve light minimum "fun" security prison sentences.

Charles Colson was the only one that went to a regular prison.

Kassandras,

Below is an interesting comment you made showing that you know nothing about the historical facts. You must be a youngster.

Here''s an easy one. Name just one of the Watergate conspirators. Just one...there were quite a few and they were jailed for their part in the Watergate conspiracy. Come on, you can do it, if you eat your wheaties.

There was really only one that was jailed for their part in the Watergate conspiracy, and that is the one who became a Born Again Christian right before they went to prison, Charles Colson. Ehrlichman, Haldeman, Mitchell all got away with it.

No kidding! The GOP is out of good ideas, and they don''t have any intellectual leaders. Palin is a hollow showpiece. Gingrich implies that she got treated badly by the press, but she''s the one who answered the questions. The press can''t help it if she''s a shallow hypocrite.

"Hey AlabasterButtCheeksBrian, is this your way, now that your neo-messiah has been elected, of openly admitting that he isn''''''''t a Christian??

Never was?? It was all a lie just as most of us real American suspected??

Posted by Obama_Dkhed"

There is nothing Christian about you and you are the only one calling him a Messiah...as you do with Reagan.

The Republican Party was hijacked by crackpot fundamentalists some time ago. As long as it continues to allow these extremists to rule the platform, it will suffer from the lack of rational support. The basic appeal of the Republican Party is less government intrusion into the lives of citizens.
That appeal is completely lost under present influence of fundamentalists whose desire is to control people''s personal lives. Who would have believed that one of the primary goals of the Republican Party is to keep their noses up womens vaginas? Barry Goldwater warned against letting these crackpots into the party but the warning wasn''t heeded.

After years of demonizing the "radical left" as dangerous, the GOP suddenly comes to the realization that most Americans view the "Evangelical Right" as the real radicals.

Until they boot this extremist element from their ranks, the GOP will find itself in a permanent minority!
