Oh really. Liberman left the democratic Party and became an independent. I don''''t suppose you need me to find that for you on the web? I can. Remember Liberman was Gores running mate in 2000, And yes he did leave the democratic party which meant the dems lost control of the house

Posted by DJ_IL at 08:07 PM : Nov 09, 2008

Joe Lieberman (not Liberman) is in the SENATE, not the House. And Lieberman did not become an independent until 2006 when the Democrats selected another Democrat for his position during the primary. Lieberman did not leave the Democratic party. The party let him go. Now he is an independent that caucuses with the Democrats. He still agrees with the Democrats on everything except foreign policy and national security issues.

Respectfully as a Senator, Senator Lieberman serves in the Senate and not the House of Representatives.

Corporate welfare is just the new democrapic buzz word, for we want to suck up the wealth of the country in GOVERNMENT CONTROL instead of individual control....because we think we should have the right to spend it more than YOU do!

Come out from under that rock more often Rowdy...

The term was coined by Ralph Nader in 1966 and compares corporate subsidies and welfare payments to the poor, and implies that corporations are much less needy of such treatment than the poor.

Posted by IOWEIGN at 07:40 PM : Nov 09, 2008

Well, you know, under MY ROCK, this is a free country. Why don''t all those POOR people get off their butts and become their own corporations and maybe they could EARN THEIR OWN DAMNED WELFARE!

Remember, in THIS country you have the opportunity make all the damned money you want to make if you''re willing to work for it!

We must become a Resilient People - as individuals, as businesses, as communities, as states, and as a country. My 10 point resilience plan is the following:
1) Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Frugality is a good word!
2) Take a Red Cross First Aid/CPR course - the National Guard who dealt with Katrina said that if people just understood basic safety protocols a lot less problems would have occurred.
3) Each family should have an Emergency Action Plan and kit in case of a disaster.
4) We should try to stay in shape - (this is where a President could serve as a model).... it would decrease health care costs.
5) Emphasize civics and ethics as a requirement for graduation! So we all understsnd why we care about our way of life!
6) National Service in all its forms should be expected.
7) I would like to see a resurgence of "shop" and home economics classes....to teach students they can do things themselves.
8) Grow more of our own food and grow it locally to decrease transportation costs. Community gardens in cities and towns and gardening education in the schools.
9) Gun safety classes - I help teach Hunter Education and all should take the safety part of this program to understand the safe use and to only use them ethically. In will also help those who do not own a gun to understand them.
10) And finally we must make the atmosphere of this country a "Can Do" attitude. We can figure things out with creative problem solving (again this can be taught in schools and workplaces).

Um. There seems to be an extra "L" in that sentence.

To DJ IL: Texwlov is not the President elect although she may have more experience than Obama. If Obama makes such an unprofessional statement in a delicate international situation, he may not have the opportunity to apologize. Remeber he can no longer vote present.

A new president to represent the people. It will never happen. Senator, oh excuse me, President Elect Obama, are you paying attention to the people here? Everyone on the blogs in different ways is telling you we do not want another auto industry bailout. But here you go, you''re paying back the lobbyist that spent money on you. Don''t forget it was a massive turnout of people that elected you. We are all saying NO BAILOUT! Are you listening to the middle class? No, you are listening to the lobbyist. Your economic advisory committee? They are all lobbyist. Just how are you representing the strained working poor and middle class. You''ve started off on the wrong foot already! I am an American. I am sick and tired of supporting Welfare, no, not the down trodden poor starving people that need it. I am sick and tired of supporting CORPORATE WELFARE! It is CORPORATE WELFARE whether Bill Clinton, George Bush, or even Ronnie Reagan. This is what is destroying the American economy. CORPORATE WELFARE! It is time to get these overfed, overpaid, greedy, blood sucking vampires off the WELFARE roles. I hope everyone reading this starts writing to their Senators, Congressmen, Governors, and every representative they can think of to tell them no bailout and end the CORPORATE WELFARE.

The Transition: Speed Is Of The Essence
Face The Nation: Chief Of Staff Says Obama Is Working Faster Building His Team Than Previous Incoming Administrations

The reason he is working faster is because of the mess the current administration and the Republicans have made of things.

If the Republicans don''t moderate they will go the way of the wigs.
