One_Texan,

This is not a beauty contest, so I couldn''t care less how Hillary Clinton or Sarah Palin look. I do know that Clinton didn''t just get a passport last year and she knows what the Bush doctrine is!

As long as we don''t have to look at Hillary''s face and put up with her self-absorbed arrogance, I''m cool.

basichm,

Did you hear me say this, DIMWIT? I said earlier that it''s ashame that parents have to work two or three jobs to make ends meet. I do believe that parenting is a responsibility and if parents are not around, society will oftentimes end up paying an even higher price.

PERIOD.

"President Bush''s attempts at a recovery have been so horrendous they''ve actually led to the current recession, which will turn out to be the worst in decades. I would venture to guess he is desperately pleading with officials to come up with even more gimmicks to hide the full realities of the economy so the worst will be reported only after he leaves office. It''s highly unlikely the rest of the world will be able to escape the pain caused by Washington ''s Three Stooges because the dollar-oil link is used to hold every nation financial hostage. China will feel the effects as will India ; and yes, even Brazil . Unlike America ''s fate, these developing nations will mount a full recovery. "

Empty comments with no meaning. You have 8 years of examples from the GOP to complain about destroying America. Tell me, when did they brainwash you?

McChange''s new slogan..."What me worry... (my friends Palin & I are for change..I can put up my 7-10 homes as collateral & borrow US dollars from the Chinese (the masters of melamine additives by the way)at a compund interest that my great great great grand children will have to pay back, & if that doesn''''t work Palin told me we can trade them Alaska for the debt(instead of auctioning it on Ebay, since she can''t sell a jet on Ebay)Hawaii is already owned by the Japanese..Don''''t worry my friends we won''t raise taxes, But my friends we will send this country to h e l l..with or with out Bin Ladens help ...sincerely McSame & McPitbull

omega40,

That''s the part I don''t think people get and Palin''s daughter is a clear example of it. If you have children YOU HAVE RESPONSIBILITIES TO RAISE THE CHILDREN. Children can''t raise themselves. I read a biography about Traci Lords one time. It said her mother was so against welfare that she worked so much she never saw her daughter. Well, you know what happened with her daughter.

In regards to Debbie Wassermans comments that women were asking "why Palin would want to take on the responsibilies of the VP and spend so much time away from her children".

Debbie Wasserman needs to talk to more women who will work extra shifts and take on second jobs in order to keep off of welfare, give our children a better life and show them that you don''''t necessarily need public handouts to achieve better things for yourself.

"You work three jobs? %u2026 Uniquely American, isn''t it? I mean, that is fantastic that you''re doing that." %u2014President George W. Bush, to a divorced mother of three, Omaha, Nebraska, Feb. 4, 2005

Yeah, abandoning your kids so you can work three jobs to feed yourself is the Republican dream.

OREGONMOM2,

There are consequences as well of both parents being away from home all the time and the children raising themselves on their own. Children need their parents. It''s shameful that today mothers, not Palin, have to work so many jobs to make ends meet. This did not used to be this way. When you decide to have a child, you also take on responsibilities. Children can''t raise themselves. We see too many today who are getting in trouble, because this country doesn''t realize it.

"If you have been married to the same woman for 19 years while raising 2 beautiful daughters, you''''re not a real Christian. If you cheated on your first wife with a rich heiress, and left your disfigured wife and married the heiress the next month, you''''re a Christian."

"If your wife is a Harvard graduate lawyer who gave up a position in a prestigious law firm to work for the betterment of her inner city community, then gave that up to raise a family, your family''''s values don''''t represent America''''s. If you''''re husband is nicknamed "First Dude", with at least one DWI conviction and no college education, who didn''''t register to vote until age 25 and was a member of a group that advocated the secession of Alaska from the USA, your family is extremely admirable."

"If you grow up in Hawaii, raised by your grandparents, you''''re "exotic, different." Grow up in Alaska eating moose burgers, a quintessential American story.

"Graduate from Harvard law School and you are unstable. Attend 5 different small colleges before graduating, you''''re well grounded."

"If you spend 3 years as a brilliant community organizer, become the first black President of the Harvard Law Review, create a voter registration drive that registers 150,000 new voters, spend 12 years as a Constitutional Law professor, spend 8 years as a State Senator representing a district with over 750,000 people, become chairman of the state Senate''''s Health and Human Services committee, spend 4 years in the United States Senate representing a state of 13 million people while sponsoring 131 bills and serving on the Foreign Affairs, Environment and Public Works and Veteran''''s Affairs committees, you don''''t have any real leadership experience. If your total resume is local weather girl, 4 years on the city council and 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 7,000 people, 20 months as the governor of a state with only 650,000 people, then you''''re qualified to become the country''''s second highest ranking executive."

Let''s face it. We have three candidates, at least, that do not really have the best resumes for being President. We have to choose one of the two best to lead the country in a very economically, perilous time. McCain admits that he knows nothing about economics, so his competence as President would depend on who he choose as his advisor and whether he would listen. His reputation as a maverick makes it doubtful that he would heed good advice.
Obama may be a liberal socialist at heart, but he is smart enough to choose and listen to good advice. He has already consulted with Robert Rubin, who was Bill
Clinton''s advisor and would probably be Obama''s.
I''ll take Robert Rubin.

In all fairness I have tried to watch and listen to both sides. I watched both Pres and VP speeches on both the DNC and RNC. I actually felt like Mccain''s speech was bettr than Obama''s, even thoug I tend to disagree more with McCain. I thought Gov. Palin''s speech was boring and stagnant.

I tried to wathc the Obama O''Reilly interview, but I had to quit, mainly for the same reason I don''t watch Bill anymore; he doesn''t allow anyone with an opposing view/opinion to complete a thought and I don''t consider it a valid viewpoint, only an attack with arrogance form O''Reilly. But, like he has said in the past "It''s myt show."

I watched the Palin-Gibson interview. I am sorry, but Palin was absolutely not prepped for that interview.

Gibson had to ask 3 or four times for the 3 changes she would bring to Washington bafore she could come up with an intelligent answer, and then only after Gibson summed them up for her. On another issue -security credentieals- she had to completely side track around the question. That one she should have had her most firm and pat answer for as its the one that has been asked most often.

Things like "The Bridge to Nowhere", book burning, "Trooper gate", she did fine on and I had no trouble with her answer(s).

I, personally DO NOT think is is ready to be the next Pres. I am looking forward to debates of all candidates.

Palin and McBush are both liars running a smear campaign that distorts everything Obama said or did. Palin/McBush represent the very best of the GOP -- self-serving greed, dishonesty, cronyism, and hypocrisy. Palin is a creationist who doesn''''t believe in science or facts. She calls herself "average". Great, just what we need: average leaders. If Americans fall for this bullcrap again, it is proof beyond doubt that we are a stupid country full of unsophisticated, irrational, shallow, and greedy people and don''''t deserve to regain the world''''s respect. We might as well hang up any pretense to world leadership because we will be surpassed by countries that respect intelligence and strive to be way above average.
