GOP Nominee Tells Face The Nation That His Ticket Offers Reform, Calls Criticism Of Palin's Experience "Denigrating"
- Mycomment1:
I''m not an idealogue. I have voted for candidates of both parties. But the Republicans need to accept responsibility for the actions they took on their watch. Laying aside their assaults on the Constitution, if you believe in fiscal responsibility why aren''t you calling them to task rather than defending them?
Those of us who consider ourselves patriots need to demand accountability from our leaders, regardless of party. I am a social liberal, a fiscal conservative, and a patriot. I have an adult child serving in the military.
You may also be a patriot. If you are I would challenge you to put your money where your mouth is and demand that Congress sell war bonds to get the country out of hock to China and resuscitate the American economy. And then I would task those of you with deep pockets to buy those bonds. If you''re not willing to make the kinds of sacrifices that Americans were asked to make in WWII, then the military actions taken in our names are not defensible.
Obama bypassed the corrupt funding system that relied on special interests and went directly to the people. If he is elected, those people can remind him exactly to whom he is beholden...the millions of average Americans for whom that donation may been a sacrifice, and who should be honored for the trust in our system of government that it represents. - Reply to this comment
- I am so tired of hearing about the Repulicans vs. the Democrats and why things aren''t being done. I have said this for a long time...Who is gong to take care of the American people? Who is going to make the necessary changes to help the american people who are paying the paychecks of those in Washington?
While they are sitting in there fancy leather chairs, being driven around by various motorcades, how much is coming out of their wallets to put gas in the tank to get to and from work? Time for change and taking care of the American people is long overdue.
When our men and women come back form Iraq, with a nation hurting for jobs now...what jobs will be waiting for them?
Who? What? Where? Why? When? and How? Time to answer the questions on Americans hearts and minds. The cost for everything is continuing to rise...for those receiving a paycheck...our paychecks aren''t rising to offset the cost now are they???? - Reply to this comment

- Why is CBS refusing to point out the illegal actions of Governor Palin?
"But more intriguing than any email correspondence contained in the four boxes was what was not released: about 1100 emails. Palin''s office provided McLeod with a 78-page list (PDF) cataloging the emails it was withholding. Many of them had been written by Palin or sent to her. Palin''s office claimed most of the undisclosed emails were exempt from release because they were covered by the "executive" or "deliberative process" privileges that protect communications between Palin and her aides about policy matters. But the subject lines of some of the withheld emails suggest they were not related to policy matters. Several refer to one of Palin''s political foes, others to a well-known Alaskan journalist. Moreover, some of the withhold emails were CC''ed to Todd Palin, the governor''s husband. Todd Palin%u2014a.k.a. the First Dude%u2014holds no official state position (though he has been a close and influential adviser for Governor Palin). The fact that Palin and her aides shared these emails with a citizen outside the government undercuts the claim that they must be protected under executive privilege. McLeod asks, "What is Sarah Palin hiding?"" - Reply to this comment
- Anyone noticed that Obama has the same nose in the air while he preaches to you mannerisms as John Kerry. Even sounds a bit like John Kerry. Maybe it''s a lawyer thing.

- I agree with you that Bush and Cheney impeachment hearings should have started long ago.

Well that''s never going to happen since the dems would be indicting themselves as well. - Reply to this comment
- I was amazed to hear a conservative talk show host admit that after the election gas prices will rise sharply. He said that we could expect six dollars a gallon this winter.

Like there is no excuse, and there we are talking about facts, for what the mess the GOP congress (including the bomber in chief McCain) did together with Bush. - Reply to this comment
- If congress can''t get past a vetoe and doesn''t have a 2/3 majority to break the vetoe - then what do you expect they do?
You are really an idiot.

Well now...that''s not what Pelosi said now is it? Remember her 100 hrs. speech. And if the dems don''t have enough bi-partisan influence to push bills through then what does that say about them? Well just maybe you will get your ''perfect'' storm. A democrat president and democrat congress. All excuses will be gone. - Reply to this comment
- When congress''s historic low approval rating combines with all expectations that there will be fewer ''pubs in congress after this year, what does that tell you?

- While Democrats control the House of Representatives by 231-202, they cannot pass progressive bills on health care, the environment, jobs, justice, and impeachment - or even stop horrendous Republican bills on Iraq, torture, and warrantless wiretapping - because a few dozen "Bush Democrats" usually vote with George Bush.

- John can''t seem to settle on whether he''s a maverick or a regular. The only phrase he hasn''t said outright is that he''s a "uniter, not a divider", which would accurately serve the purpose of showing the true origin of his current positions, w & rove. It''s even w''s people that are preparing Palin for the media.

- In December 1996, Emmons told her hometown newspaper, the Frontiersman, that Palin three times asked her -- starting before she was sworn in -- about possibly removing objectionable books from the library if the need arose.
Emmons told the Frontiersman she flatly refused to consider any kind of censorship. Emmons, now Mary Ellen Baker, is on vacation from her current job in Fairbanks and did not return e-mail or telephone messages left for her Wednesday.
When the matter came up for the second time in October 1996, during a City Council meeting, Anne Kilkenny, a Wasilla housewife who often attends council meetings, was there.

- Well aren''t you special...the only living patriot left in the country. Guess what sweetie you don''t have the corner on patriotism or the only person with a stake on the war. In case you FORGOT the dems voted for that war also! You can keep blaming all the problems in the country on the repubs and give the dems a pass for eternity but that is just plain ignorance on your part. This is a two party sytem sweetie...so get in line and take your share of the blame! Oh and by the way...any dems since Kennedy turn down their salary? And your attitude shows just how naive and gullible you are.

- McCain has supported Bush 90% of the time. Not much of a maverick, this McCain. A 10% deviation is nothing to crow about.

- Obama is Change? Ha ha,yeah right.......The Democrat Party has become the Lawyers'' Party. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are lawyers. Bill Clinton and Michelle Obama are lawyers. John Edwards, the other former Democrat candidate for president, is a lawyer, and so is his wife, Elizabeth. Every Democrat nominee since 1984 went to law school (although Gore did not graduate). Every Democrat vice presidential nominee since 1976, except for Lloyd Bentsen, went to law school. Look at the Democrat Party in Congress: the Majority Leader in each house is a lawyer.
