Says As Mayor Of Small Alaska Town Palin Has Had To Make Decisions Rather Than Speeches
- shanev137,
If you take a moment to learn the facts about Palin''s ex-brother in law''s situation, you''ll see she was exactly right in what she did.
And Regarding Palin''s apparrent flipflop on the Bridge to Nowhere, Bill McAllister, who was a reporter for Anchorage television station KTUU during the 2006 Alaska Governer''s campaign, said he remembers well Palin''s position on the bridge project. She was lukewarm as a candidate and cooled to it as governor, he said.
"Of course when you become governor things come into much sharper focus than when you are a candidate," he said. "Then she is forced to pay very close attention to the fiscal realities of it."
How novel... a politician who learned the facts and changed her mind.
Isn''t that a woman''s perogative anyhow?

- This right wing, unseasoned, shoot from the hip, incompetent reactionary who is anti-choice would be my last choice for any position of power. She will never get my vote.

- People can also change their minds based on new information and that does not make them traitors to their voters or party.

Senators work the nations business, which generally has international repercussions. To vote wisely, they have to understand the world, not just the nation. Example: In 2000, former-gov/ now-Pres Bush axed a little-known program to contain and destroy loose nuclear fissile material in the former Soviet Union, run by Senator Lugar. After 9-11 Bush did an about-face. When Obama became a Senator, this was the first program he signed up to participate in, and travelled to the Ukraine to see its progress and learn more. Hard for the right to believe, but Obama didn''t want nuclear material to get into the hands of terrorists, while BUSH didn''t care, back when it mattered that he know what he was doing.
Against Obama''s global experience, especially in matters of nuclear containment, you''re offering up Palin''s experience as a MAYOR??? - Reply to this comment
- Sarah Palin is going to bring out the GOP conservative base.
She is going to bring some women who were undecided.
McCain hit a grandslam with this choice.
(And Obama picked Joe Biden, 3 time presidential loser.) - Reply to this comment
- Plus, Palin is under investigation for trying to get her brother-in-law fired from his state trooper job.

The man only met with her once, and talked to her on the phone only once. I don''t think he really cares who is VP as long as it looks good on him. - Reply to this comment

Tell me this- Has John McCain ever had any job in the private sector? I mean ever? You can''t see any mention of one private sector job? I mean beside picking bananas or something where he grew up in Panama...
Has John McCain ever "run a city, he''s never run a state, he''s never run a business, he''s never administered a payroll..."
