"And remember to thank G.W. for the ruination of the party!" Posted by linymo

Bush was only the last nail in a coffin the GOP spent decades building.

They intentionally branded themselves as the party of the elite, the party of intolerance, the party of unregulated and corrupt capitalism, and otherwise moved themselves even to the right of the Libertarian party. Their most vocal advocates were people like David Duke, the Pats (Robertson and Buchanan), Rush Limbaugh, Newt "cultural war" Gingrich, and other Neanderthals.

They became the haven for racist "southern Democrats" back in the 70s, after the Democrat party reached out to non-"Whites" to broaden their base for the future.

Now that their self-hating attitude is now no longer viable, their pathetic attempts to whitewash their sociopathic nature will fail, and they will be consigned to the septic tank of history, where they should have been long ago.

I agree with the core of your post, I do not believe McCain has developed any moral values. To me it is another political soft shoe. He had years to stop them and did not...

The US deserves a Democratic President for the next four years. The survivors will learn a valuable lesson.

Riptide213,

Oh, give me a break. He''s lucky he''s even able to run for president. After the Keating 5 scandal, many other politicians wouldn''t have been given two, three, ten more chances. He could have learned to walk the walk after that...took him twenty years almost but go ahead and praise him.

The Republican party has forgotten a basic rule that even a mongrel dog will not violate, It may be crude, but factual. They do not defecate or urinate where they sleep. For the past seven and half years they have pissed and crapped on all Americans, They have send jobs over seas, allowed illegal immigration to flourish, allowed control of the U.S. economy to pass into corporate hands. Sent troops into a war that first was not necessary, second only adds to the personal wealth of Bush/Cheney. The saddest fact is the 4000 American deaths mean absolutely nothing to Bush social elitist, they are only collateral damage to his/their gain.. The damage caused by the Republican party should be the end of all prospects for any elected office. I also believe that the Democrats need to get their sh*t together NOW!

Thank you Senator McCain for being a decision maker who after talking the talk is now willing to take the first steps in walking the walk. I%u2019m obliged to give him full credit for a rousing refocus to help keep citizens and voters on target to demand all candidates open up and take steps toward better public scrutiny in politics. Already a party nominee McCain could have misdirected our attention elsewhere, but he didn%u2019t.

Public scrutiny in all things political must be the new political correctness battle cry craze to sweep this nation. Change can only happen from candidates or incumbents who are in the game.

The Good, Bad, and Ugly balance in politics has been deplorably tilting towards the later two depraved traits. Any small nugget of good gold dust on scale of integrity to counterbalance transgressions of lobbyist influence is welcome. I yearn its not fools gold.

Intrigue and desirability of any candidate from any party that executes actions vs words toward invigorating a lobbyist purge is to the point.

Paid professional career lobbyists are eroding and weakening the by now fading influence of voters and ordinary citizens.

Any action by any candidate from any party who takes on the responsibility of holding anyone to account and by putting into practice any ethics code is worthy of praise for the greater political good which transcends all parties.

Sanctioned by scrupulous voters everywhere; let the lobbyist witch hunts commence.

The Republican Party made their bed, quite arrogantly I might add, and now Republicans have to sleep in it! Maybe Republicans should buy the hit single "Don''t Cry for me Argentina" and listen to that for the next 4 or 8 years! If Republicans think anyone is about to feel sorry for them then they really are out of touch! The real mystery is how Republicans avoided prosecution and jail time, but then maybe thats still coming too! Republicans need to seriously look in the mirror before they lash out at this Post, the GOP truly has raised "in your face arrogance to an Art form!" Earth calling Republicans! Earth calling Republicans!!

The GOP are in the Last Chance Saloon and if they want to prevent it being a Bucket of Blood they would be well advised to waste no time in getting on their knees to the man they do not want in power and have shunned during the last twelve months. Their very own Ron Paul, Wake Up America he alone is your Salvation.

Come November, the Repubs will be shunted out from both houses of Congress as well as the White House. What needs to be done is to impeach the rogue regime of Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld/Oil-Defense contractors etc. and get back all the trillions that were stolen from the public treasury. Public needs to understand the massive lies/deceptions this regime undertook to fool the American people. Shame.

I think Mike Huckabee''s comments regards to Obama at that speech was un necessary
I have a problem with that. I am not a democrat and have criticized all the candidates. That comment was low at the NRA meeting and the people there listening aught to be ashamed allowing him to speak in that fashion. I think a punch in the face would be appropriate for that comment another sellout non republican posing as stupid as can be similar to Mitt Romneys candidacy. John McCain is playing the media on the issues. What would you do? Sorry, we all aught to be ashamed of ourselves allowing Non Republicans to lead the country in this fashion. No attacks because the first ones were induced. The Economy????????????????????????????????????????? Maybe Obama would be the best of the three candidates regardless of the past Horse manure we have heard from all the non relevant radio show productions. all links at www.jamestowncalif.com Mike Huckabee that comment was a horrible as you appearing on the Leno Show during the Writers Strike. Thanks to you and the other sell outs in your party, the Republican Party is Over with this personnel

Here''s a SUGGESTION for the NEOCON Party concerning their election problems:

Tell King George that the Israeli Knesset is NOT a STOP on HIS Campaign Trail no matter HOW MUCH WE pay them.

Tell George that PROMISING the SAUDIS (OSAMA Bin LADEN''S HOMELAND)OUR NUCLEAR technology and VAST amounts of WEAPONS may make those SAUDI ISLAMIC fundamentalists "enthused" but THEY are NOT American Voters.

Tell George that BERATING Egypt and WAXING enthusiastic about the Taliban Puppet "Democracy" that just TORTURED and CONDEMNED to DEATH a reporter for ASKING QUESTIONS about ISLAM is NOT something that WINS votes.

On SECOND thought JUST LOCK UP AND HIDE the man before he SETS OFF ARMAGEDDON!

That would make Nancy Pelosi President when nobody outside of her district ever voted for her. It is a situation that would create divisions rather than diminish them.

The only offense Shrub can''t pardon is impeachment. The Dems have to impeach him and Cheney, even this late in their terms. Otherwise, he''ll pardon his people before he leaves office. Ford pardoned Nixon. Bush is trying to pre-pardon himself.

I hope that the Repugs are out of power FOREVER! They are THE most irresponsible, reckless, greedy and selfish hypocrites ever to exist in the history of human kind.

couldnt have said it better myself. This fall the great stink will leave Washington and sensible people will have their chance to clean up the mess Bush ,Rove Cheney and co. have made.
The nightmare will finally end.

Methinks the Republicans'' primary problem is that the American people have figured out that their tactics of "divide and conquer"...of sowing dissension and fear...are all meant to distract America so that America''s middle class and poor don''t notice as the Republicans - and their puppetmasters - steal from their pocketbooks, plunder the nation''s Treasury, and destroy the future of their children.

Pretty simple, actually; the Republicans do not wish to lead America - they wish to prey upon it.

With three special elections defeats this year (even in redneck Mississippi), 32 GOP resignations, and fund raising that is falling, it looks like the GOP is going to get beat up in 2008 worse than in 2006. Why is this so? Three words: George Dum@ss Bush.
The arrogance, incompetence, hypocrisy, and corruption of this embarrassing national disgrace is going to be paid for by the party that did little more than to serve as his yes-men and rubber-stamp his failed policies. The GOP has an a$$ whooping coming. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
