Comments on: Edwards: Clinton Now A Stronger Candidate

But Former Senator Says Hillary Cannot Make A Case For Her Run Based On The Math

by blackmilitan May 12, 2008 7:01 PM EDT
Rep. Steve Cohen, D-Tenn, an Obama supporter, compared Clinton to the Glenn Close character in "Fatal Attraction" -- a spurned woman turned stalker who was apparently drowned in a bathtub only to jump up one more time to be shot dead.

"Glenn Close should have stayed in that tub, and Sen. Clinton has had a remarkable career and needs to move to the next step, which is helping elect the Democratic nominee," Cohen said during a local

Edwards said that Hillary was stronger than she was before. He didn''t say that she was stronger than Obama. And what is CBS up to anyway? This is the fourth story this morning that makes it sound somehow like Obama is less. She can''t win and CBS knows it. Why the cheap shots? Are you that desperate for a story?

"Nope, the media won''''t do that!" Maybe it has something to do with that fact that nearly all of our news comes from 8 conservative leaning corporations? http://www.globalissues.org/HumanRights/Media/Corporations/Owners.asp

How about if they report the irony of the great "war hero" that consistently votes to deny benefits to veterans?

That probably answers my question... OK, any minute now the media outlets will pile on McCain for flip flopping the way they did to John Kerry.... any minute now.... should just be any minute.... no?

*** Nope, the media won''t do that! Juan Mccain is the richpublican nominee, so they won''t want to hurt his chances. Just like the swift boaters against kerry, even though Kerry was a real war hero, they tried damaging his name unfairly! While W never stepped foot in vietnam! Just like if Juan Mccains revrend said anything like Wright, it would be swept under the carpet. I hate Juan Amnesty Mccain!

Yeah, immigration is what alienated W from a good chunk of his "base" too. Has McCain been pretty consistent on opening the floodgates or is this yet another area that he''''s flip flopping on?

*** that is why i hate bush! I don''t mind the war in Iraq! I don''t mind the rich people getting tax breaks as long as the would have raised the minimum wage in return. The only reason I hate bush is because he is too weak on immigration! As Texas governor, he pretty much was in power when illegals swept through and nothing was done to stop it. I honestly voted for pat buchanon in my first primary vote of 1996. because pat wanted to put a wall around mexico! I then voted for clinton when boring dole won the nominee. I voted for nadar in 2000, because rich people and corporations were getting away with too much! I voted for Edwards in the 2004 and 2008 primaries. I voted for Kerry in 2004 general election, because under the first 4 years of bush, he did NOTHING to secure the border or deport illegals. I hate bush because of his weakness on illegals. I could care less about what judges they appoint to the supreme court, I care more about the possibility of losing my job to one of the 12 million or more illegal immigrants!

If Juan Mccain spoke of border control, it was only to show his flipflopping for political gain. He is the weakest ever on illegal immigration. I don''t just want a secure boarder, I don''t want to give amnesty to 12 million illegals that came here illegally. In that post you put of Mccain on secure boarder, he didn''t mention anything about the illegals living here did he? I wonder why???? Maybe because he wants to give them all amnesty...that would be why... duh!

I dont see Mccains Amnesty, you have any source.

*** Yes! Just google Mccain / amnesty ... or if you still can''t find it goggle "Dream Act".. It was 2005 or 2006 when Juan Mccain wanted to give 12 million illegals citizenship, without paying a fine, without learning english, and not getting to back of the lines! Look up dream act! Senator Lindsey Grahmn got the nickname gramnesty from the same "Dream Act bill"!

His supporters have already aknowledged Obama ties to ISM. And they say so what, mostly college kids. They know his involvement.

*** who cares about his ties to ism?? I don''t care! I would rather have someone tied to ism, then amnesty mccain letting 12 million illegals get amnesty! I hate Juan Amnesty Mccain!

Nope, still not seeing it. I''m willing to overlook the obvious extreme right-wing bias with the "Barry Hussein Obama - The Audacity of Hype" satires and other BS obviously meant for the Rush crowd, just for curiosity sake, but, I''m still seeing Hockey Stick Scam as the cover article.

I have always believed that our border must be secure and that the federal government has utterly failed in its responsibility to ensure that it is secure. If we have learned anything from the recent immigration debate, it is that Americans have little trust that their government will honor a pledge to do the things necessary to make the border secure.

As president, I will secure the border. I will restore the trust Americans should have in the basic competency of their government. A secure border is an essential element of our national security. Tight border security includes not just the entry and exit of people, but also the effective screening of cargo at our ports and other points of entry.

But a secure border will contribute to addressing our immigration problem most effectively if we also:

Recognize the importance of building strong allies in Mexico and Latin America who reject the siren call of authoritarians like Hugo Chavez, support freedom and democracy, and seek strong domestic economies with abundant economic opportunities for their citizens.

Recognize the importance of pro-growth policies -- keeping government spending in check, holding down taxes, and cutting unnecessary regulatory burdens -- so American businesses can hire and pay the best.

*** Most of us could care less if Obama is tied to ism or anything else. Atleast Obama won''t give 12 million illegals citzenship overnight! obama wants them to pay a fine, learn english, and go to the back of the line. Juan Mccain doesn''t care if they learn english, doesn''t want them to pay a fine, and wants them to jump to the front of the line! Anyone other than Amnesty Juan Mccain in 2008!

I think it will come down to Edwards or webb for vp. I personally like Edwards, and I voted for Edwards in the primary so I have some bias for supporting Edwards, but Webb from VA makes sense too. Webb is the only member of congress or senate that has a child serving in Iraq! Plus he is a democrat in a red state! We might be able to turn VA blue in November. VA looks like a good swing state even without Webb, Obama got like 400,000 votes there, 350,000 more than Juan Amnesty mccain!

Anyone hear that Clinton wants Edwards to be her vp? I think that is why Edwards is not picking sides yet. I''''d take either/Edwards.
Posted by csp66 at 03:10 PM : May 12, 2008
** yeah, I think Edwards is staying neutral for that reason, he would make a great vp choice for either Obama or Clinton. Rumor had it when he dropped out both offered him the vp spot in return for dropping out before super tuesday, where Edwards was projected to win California and place well in other states!
