One big mistake in the Iraq war was undermine Iran , Syria and other Islamic countries.
We where too naof thinking that we could have a happy ending killing Hussein , taking down his government and establishing a new democratic government.,
If we won then it could be a disaster and the worst example for the Muslim world.
The war in Iraq is not a war against terrorism, is a war against Muslim radicals. Iran , Syria and other countries, they never are going to give up, they are going to continue sending terrorist and war supplies to kill us and Iraqis who want democracy in their country.
Senator Lieberman is wrong , even if we bomb their training camps they will continue, because for them it is a holy war, a religious war they want us out of there .
They want destroy Israel and dominate the western world, they do not care about their lives, the Iraqis or American lives, they want to win the holy war and proclaim victorious.
The only ways we can win is from the inside out and remove from the Middle East all the totalitarians, theocratic, genocides governments. It is not easy; it will take time and the support of other nations.
Has long we see radicals teachers in kindergarten schools and Imams teaching hate against Christians and Jews ,the good to be a suicide bomber for the love of Ala and the holy war , we never are going to have peace.

Yeah, bomb Iran BRILLIANT idea. As if that wouldn't really open up a melee in the Middle East. If we were to bomb Iran, Iran would probably attack Israel, which would cause the United States to attack Iran with more force which would then embroil the entire region in a disaster of Biblican proportions. Lieberman should just get out now since this sort of rhetoric will just alienate just about everyone with a lick of common sense and he stands about as much chance of winning the presidency as my dog. Wait, I shouldn't insult my dog.

Hey Joe, why don't we just nuke the whole mess and be done with it? Methinks you're taking this premptive war thing to a new level. Let's just ignore the fact that Iran is a soverign nation and violate their border and bomb a few bases. They won't be pissed, will they? Not to mention every other arab state in the area. If you live in Conn....why did you re-elect this guy? What were you thinking?

infidel_US,

You're confusing what's perceived to be good for Israel with what's good for America. It's a common neocon affliction.

6 years ago, Democrats were sure that this guy was the right choice for the nations second highest elected office. Guts, integrity, intelligence, and will do what's right for the country...no doubts...guess that makes every Democrat that would have voted that way as much of a liar as the current administration is...unless of course they still feel that way.

nikosk1, They won't because it's a wealthy republican state that apparently wasn't represented quite to their liking so they used the democrat party to elect their brand of a republican...it is rather curious but then so is Kansas which has a female democratic governor but is vastly quite conservative republican.

SENATOR JOE LIEBERMAN is an Outstanding Senator for the recently established STATE OF ISRAEL located on Palestinian Land.

Conn. Senator Lieberman said on Face the Nation on June 10, 2007. That The United States should launch military strikes against Iran if the government of Tehran does not stop supplying anti-American forces in Iraq on Sunday. GREAT IDEA FOR THE STATE OF ISRAEL!

I SAY HELL NO, AND ITS TIME FOR SOMEOME TO STAND UP FOR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. We do not live in the state of Israel. Treat Israel like We treat Africa and other darker nations of the world. Peace, freedom, love, justice, and expose the lies of the powerful NOW. And save God the WORK in the hereafter.....

I have absolutely no respect for lieberman - he's an israeli apologist and is owned by AIPAC.

he wants to send even more of our young people now to iran?

what can we do when we've got foreigners in the White House and Senate! Send the whole lot back to TelAviv!

As a conservative, I can really respect a man like Senator Lieberman. He speaks from a position of what's best for America, not what's best for either party or himself, personally.

I find his spirit of selfless service VERY refreshing!

I voted for Lamont so I did my part. I even registered democrat instead of independent (after 15 years republican, I'm not voting for the new GOP for some time if ever) just to do my part in helping Lamont win against the Jewish interest (Republican) Independent in the primary.
I guess our paying to replace Iraq's government with a puppet Israely friendly gov. for Israel was not enough. Now they want the U.S. to float the bill in taking out Iran and regime changing them. War profiteers will have no problem with this of course.
I love how they used Lieberman to bring up the issue that would mean a guaranteed loss in re-election for any GOP.

bald_rock, To most american people it is clear we are there in Iraq based on a series of lies. This country after 911 rushed to Afghanistan where the enemy was said to be. As if overnight the focus was Iraq, a few days were given to Iraq to demonstrate they did not have WMD's, Bush clearly pushed hard to overthrow Sadam. Bush also said we would get Osama bin Laden the mastermind then just a few months later said he didn't care where he was...then during political rallies said he was going to get him...it's been one big fat lie. So, if Iranians are causing trouble for U.S. soldiers given the lies that have been told, the inconsistencies, the deceipt, the failure to disclose what the heck we're trying to accomplish...mission accomplished? Well the solution is get out of Iraq then.

I believe McCain and Lieberman would be an excellent choice for the White House!

Talk about your finicky countries...it used to be enough to go and kick the wad out of the other guys army...now we need to subdue all violence (like we're even capable of doing that here at home) to claim victory.

Sadly, some Americans still fear to do what is right for our soldiers. If military intelligence says there is a training camp and materials coming from Iran, then remove the problem element at the core as soon as you can target it. Military intelligence isn't always right, but it%u2019s a lot closer than most give it credit for and most of the time even when in error, the information is just outdated rather than completely wrong. Taking out this camp would show our seriousness and resolve. That could play a long way toward warding off what I believe is going to happen. Ultimately, I believe war with Iran is inevitable because of the nuclear issue. The only question is; are we going to go in completely or just punish them from afar with missiles and air power? I vote for the latter with no clean up responsibilities%u2026straight warning that if they continue the route they%u2019re on; we%u2019ll collapse their society for decades to come.

to bald_rock,

You may not realize this, but we ARE standing up for our GIs, they shouldn't even be there furthering Bush's illegal agenda. they are fighting and dying because of Bush's lies, but the media seems to not entertain the idea that to simply stop this madness is an option. We wish to get our loved ones out of there now, they are dying over there for no good or even legal reason.

By the way, are you a civilian? I understand from a few of my friends there that GIs have a standing order not to participate in these public forums, so you are violating orders if you are so.

Thanks and it is refreshing. Its time somebody stands up for the simple GI.

I am in Iraq and yes, Iran is supporting the insurgency cause. A suggestion to those of you who don't believe I ask you to simply ask any returning veteran

Posted by bald_rock

Sounds like you're trying to sound as if you are a soldier in iraq. Is that correct? Otherwise why would we have to ask a returning GI ?

iran supports the iraqi insurgency? no shiite?
they happen to be neighbors so I'd guess the iranians support those iraqis who want the occupier out of their country. Or not?

I think I'd support canada if she was invaded by france - and maybe even send my canadian friends some ied's.

janem4, well, those who have had the pleasure of reading your posts belittling posts know where your head is buried and how you really feel about the majority of americans. The facts will stand the more americans are told lies these days, belittled by an elite that tells them they are too lazy, too soft, too expensive to do certain jobs thus the reasons the work is going overseas or illegal workers are being employed the more the burning their resentment and anger will manifest for those who betrayed the people of this country with the deceiptful rhetoric that began to gain momentum with Reagan and the neo cons. I'll get it right for the Bushy since he failed this expression, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

Someday, the middle class working american will be saying "never again" and those who exploited the founding principles of this nation and attempted to reshape it into the image and likeness of their own special interests will be marginalized and shoved back into the history box with the rest of the old world orders that oppressed the masses and relegated a self serving non-visionary high society trash to power.
