As for the generals supporting Bush on the war. They have seen the frontlines from a first hand perspective. If you have not then do not comment on what is going on in Iraq and the motives of high ranking soldiers who are sacrificing their own lives for you freedom.

hogwash! how many generals have given us their honest opinions about this insane war and found themselves in early retirement?

only those who agree with the mistaken policy and "follow orders" are promoted - even this "surge policy" cam from the "stinktank" AEI, not even from our own military.

As for not commenting on what's going on in Iraq, let me tell you dude - this is America, not Nazi Germany.

"The president came in, in 2001, determined to try to deal with the Iraqi situation perhaps even by sanctions, by smart sanctions." Rice

that's a baldfaced lie - there were 10 years of devastating sanctions already + an effective no-fly zone. saddam was completely neutalized and very very weak.

the truth is the opposite: Bush and neocon-dom saw an easy kill, which they thought would fit nicely into their "transformation of the Middle East" to use Rice's own words before Congress.

This woman is hired gun, nothing else and a traitor to America.

Bush was determined to deal with the Iraqi situation???? What did Saddam ever do to the US to warrant an invasion?? The war was planned well before the election. Rice distorts the truth so much, she is just another pawn to dickcheney. Send the whole lot of them to Iraq if they think it is such a wonderful place. When history books are written to cover these years, The Bush administration will be one of the most corrupt administrations our country has ever had.

usmcofficer,,,, You don't read Military Times ??? More than 2/3 of our military doesn't agree with you... that was in 2006 --- It's gotten worse..

There is no Democracy in Iraq, never was in the 1st place & won't be.... Reconstruction has failed totally... Not even General Petreaus will say that it's not a mess, & has little faith in the surge.

First off, Rice was not promoted. National Security Advisor is a much tougher job, and that is why it gets paid more. Secretary of State is a much more ceremonial position. As for the generals supporting Bush on the war. They have seen the frontlines from a first hand perspective. If you have not then do not comment on what is going on in Iraq and the motives of high ranking soldiers who are sacrificing their own lives for you freedom. Next time you speak with an officer in the military, ask him what he thinks about the media presence in IRAQ and coverage of the war. You will get a straight foward answer that shows you that the things going on in Iraq and Afgan are so commendable that they only hope the American public can realize that there young soldiers are making this world a safer place to live in for you and me. GOD BLESS AMERICA AND ALL THoSE WHO SERVE!!

This is a clear pattern by this administration. Any criticism is dealt with by causing personal damage the one making the claim. Do not try to address the criticism, but personally hurt the messenger.
What ruthless people this administration is and completely devoid of any credibility.

Yeah its not like Bush got a *** or anything. All he did was Preside, in a completely incompetent manner, over two of the biggest disasters in US history. When are you righties going to quit making excuses for that sob? You're like the handful of old Germans who still refuse to admit that Hitler was a bad guy.

RICE IS WORTHLESS! SHE DOESN'T REALIZE (OR CARE) THAT HER CREDIBILITY WITH THE AMERICAN PEOPLE IS COMPLETELY GONE WITH THE WIND (JUST AS IT IS WITH ALL THE PEOPLE IN THE BUSH ADM.).

IMPEACH BUSH & CHENEY.

9/11 WAS AN INSIDE JOB.
