And I guess if one sticks one's head up one's azz, one is not interested in the truth, either. Sadaam proved himself to be a threat to the entire region and after 9/11, we went on the defensive -with the sanction of the entire Congress. So when people say to me that if they only knew then what they know now, I tend to get very annoyed. Truth seekers don't pass the buck. Apparently this Do-Nothing Congress knows nothing better. - Reply to this comment
- freedomisnot- More lies. Bush did claim Hussein was responsible for 9/11 and if you own a television and spent any time at all watching it during the run up to the war you *** well know it. Your claims he financed suicide bombers that hit American targets is ridiculously unfounded. List your source-you know you can%u2019t because you are mindlessly reading form your Rush Limbaugh script of bs. The problem is you are not distinguishing between groups. Those attacks you are listing were not done by Iraqis, and not one of those people attacked the World Trade center. The Beirut bombing was a completely separate issue from our Iraq invasion. You are making the same ignorant mistake as your hero, Bush.

But we also do not lie to start a invasion.
bush sr. showed Iraq was no threat to anyone especially the united states.
Reminds me of the 1st Iraq a young woman I met had tears in her eyes she said her son just in the service had orders to go. I told her to stop as he wouldn't be there long enough to get hurt. I told her it wouldn't be like Vietnam. I told her they can play ostrich but still would get their a*s shot off. - Reply to this comment

- OK Sparky, you have crossed the line as far as I am concerned. I am a Democrat and d@mn proud to be one. To equate me with the likes of Ahmadinajad and Al-Sadr crosses over even worst of analogies. No sane person could expouse such filth and ignorance as you have shown on this thread today. You must be a card carrying member of the "Ditto Club".

I just expose the facts. Like U.N. might have wanted to further inspect Iraq for WMD's just like they put real hefty sanctions on Iran and North Korea. Check out that quick thinking fast acting Security Council. Give me a break, I grew up a Democrat. This is not my Daddy's party. They are so far left, they have fallen off the planet. - Reply to this comment

If Sadamm was willing to pay suicide bombers families 25,000 dollars to blow themselves up in Israel what makes you think he would not pay larger amounts to blow up US targets. And Bush never said Hussein was directly responsible only that there was an affiliation with known terrorist elements (those who blow up civilians to make a political point). - Reply to this comment
- j4401 - I think the discussion of how and why we got into the mess in Iraq is terribly important as it goes directly to the credibility of the Bush team -- what must also be discussed at the same time is the lack of comprehension, lack of ability and lack of reality that has made the Bush Team fail so miserably in all aspects of Iraq - from the deceptions to get in there to how badly they've handled it.
At some point someone has to say to them quite bluntly - we don't trust you and we don't trust your abilities to get us out of there. - Reply to this comment

Lie Lie Lie. Hans Blix (UN Inspiector) begged for more time because he said they were almost 100% positive there were no WMD and said that only a couple of more months of inspections would prove it. Hussein had agreed to open all his sites for UN investigation. Bush said "No, we have indisputable evidence that there are WMDs and Cheney proceeded to paint mushroom cloud pictures for the public while Bin laden was being ignored in Afghanistan. The rush was more likely because Bus knew that if the UN finished its inspections and officially demonstrated there were no WMD Bush%u2019s chance ot invade would be lost and he%u2019d be branded a war criminal if he simply seized the Iraqi oilfields. - . YOu are right about one thing--expect attacks from Iraq from now on--because after causing the deaths of over 650K people on a whim--I suspect that many of the survivors want nothing more than to make us feel their pain.
In fact, I suspect one of their blurbs will be "Lets fight them over there, so we don't have to fight them here--anymore"

History 101
1983 Marine Barrack car bomb in Lebenon 283 Marines killed- action withdrawal of all troops
1985 German discotec bombed killing 50
1987 Lockerby Scotland airline bombed killing 300 innocent civilians
1993 World trade center bombed 6 killed several hundred wounded
I could go on but most people would see a trend by now. These are just the highlights. Do some reading and you will find that these tactics have been in play by the Islamist for several decades and we had chosen no response or pinprick responses in the past The increasing lethality and the willingness and ability to attack us on our home soil has left us no other course of action. Offensive operations are the only way to stem the tide of those willing to kill innocents to make their political point. Defensive measures in a free society are all but impossible to maintain without turning our country into a police state (which no one wants). - Reply to this comment

- Face it, we stand on the side of morality and legitimacy when we fight back against those who attack us--not make up reasons to attack those who have something we want, but who actually have not done anything to us.

Everyone from Clinton on down this Congress, European intelligence from Germany, Italy, France and England - all said Sadaam had WMD's. Everyone from Clinton on down to this Congress, felt that Sadaam was an imminent threat to this country. We cannot be righteous one minute and immoral the next. - Reply to this comment

- mudrose -doesn't it bother you that Bush's policies are running our country into debt and near bankrupcy and thousands of US soldiers are losing their lives and limbs over a pack of lies? The way you sit on thsi site dya and night it is obvious you are a paid rNC troll stirring the pot, ro a CBS palnt trying to egg us on. Theonly people espousing your viewpoints anymore are sleeping with their sisters in their trailer and peeking out their windows waiting for the the terrorists to invade.

- mudrose - you really have to ask yourself - how long are you prepared to be a "Bush Idiot" - forever???
Fact is that Iraq has been warring with themselves for over 1,000 years - one would have to truly be a moron to think that l'll ole george was going to 'fix' that -- if we do as you suggest we're there for the long haul - and that means decades.
Now are you willing to have the US put ALL its resources into Iraq for the next 40-50 years.
Are you willing to die for that? Are you willing to send your sons and daughters to die for it?? I thought not.
So if you aren't willing to die for it why should others?? - Reply to this comment

You are so on a roll today. Excellent point. Also, keep up the analogies. I'm going to use that one about parents defending their bully kid for years when talking about the problem with politics. - Reply to this comment
- Smart people know when they are on the losing side of a situation and move to stop their losses.
Enough. Out of Iraq Now.

Better known as cut and run. Nothing smart about it. Doesn't it bother you that Ahmy in Iran and Al-Sadr also hold up in Iran who's representatives in government quit because they know that their voices are not representative of the people are all in agreement, along with Al-Qaeda of our departure. Doesn't bother any of you that these azzholes all agree with the Dems. - Reply to this comment
- Anyone have some feedback on the real reasons we are still at war? Is it all about making a few special individuals richer? I think that is the only issue to discuss at this point.

- Bush and Cheney are now below Nixon ratings.
I dont think these guys are trying to anything at this point except hang onto the ledge until the end of their terms.
Then they bail out a couple of very very very rich men.
What pathetic excuses for human beings they are. - Reply to this comment
