When he first became governor of our fair state he was very confrontational, like Bush. His attitude was, as he said on the show, my way or the highway. Then all of his initiatives were soundly defeated by the voters in the special election he called. Unlike Bush though he learned his lesson. He realized that he works for the people of this state, not the other way around. Since then he's become a mush better governor and even as a democrat I voted for him in the last election. Here's hoping his mentality spreads to the dolt in the White House, though I doubt it'll sink through his thick skull and into his tiny pea brain.

"...he has learned to shed the 'us-versus-them' mentality and concentrate on serving the people..."

I don't live in California, so I have no way of judging his governorship. But I firmly believe the us vs. them, politics as sports, mentality poisons the well of political dicourse.
