Re: "Your premise that the USA was held in stellar esteem by all the world in 2000 and before is bunk."

Errr. I'm afraid I'm going to have to award that point to 'jackntx'.

I'm sure that Mr. Chomski and Mr. Zinn can fill in the blanks for us.

So far all I see from jack is a lot of insults and double talk. Most here have in the past provided evidence to support our arguments, which you would know if you've been paying attention. Yet from you all we hear are the words of a troll throwing out arguments with no base.

RandalDS,

Nice to see you being objective about your 'obvious truth'.

Feelfree1,

So you're saying that no one 'bothered to investigate'.

That would mean Clinton knew, but did not write or say anything. Ditto for his whole former administration. Ditto for all the Democratic congressmen and senators.

And ditto for the NY Times, Washington Post, etc.

Your assertion is not credible.

You have been telling yourself and your buddies a bunch of bull feces for too long.

After at least three independent investigations on two continents, no one has uncovered any EVIDENCE that Bush, Powell, or anyone else knew before going into Iraq that the intelligence was, to be kind, not quite on the mark.

Perhaps that red hot hatred of Bush has melted a few too many synapses to think logically

There has been no serious independent investigation in the US on if Bush lied about the intel..yet. There will be some coming up soon after the new Senate is convened and then, with the power of the subpoena and threats of contempt of congress, we'll finally have a chance to put into the record what is obviously true, that Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld cherry-picked the intel and used these stretched truths and outright lies to get an authorization to go to war.
