- How about the media in these so called Obama scandals. Forget the fact that e-mails which have been recently released have been with Congress for 2 months. Forget the hatched job done by the IRS, (which happens every day in normal lives.) The outrage by the press about the Justice Department encroaching on the 1st Amendment will motivate these clowns like Bob Scheifer, David Gregory and the rest to illuminate any further accusation they are in Obama's pocket.
Not once this morning to Scheifer bring up the outrage by McCain and Graham who were demanding investigation of these specific leaks. Also, it's okay for the government to profile in other facets of society but not when it come to "gaming tax laws".
The sad thing might be this will be the same as the 1970's; in a mirror. The majority of Americans likely don't care. They want jobs, health care, immigration reform and some balance in the payment of this stuff. They may end up hating the republicans and the press, which lead to bigger problems.
If you watched the news shows and Congress this week, it's not so far fetched. - Reply to this comment

- I am a longtime viewer of Face the Nation, and generally admire the program's balanced approach to political debate. However, I must express my strong objections to allowing hate group leader Tony Perkins (of the Family Research Council) to appear as a panelist on your program. Perkins has a clear record of out-and-out lying about LGBT people and spreading false, anti-gay propaganda about LGBT people. The organization that Perkins represents, the Family Research Council, has been classified by the Southern Poverty Law Center as a certified hate group:
http://www.splcenter.org/get-informed/intelligence-files/groups/family-research-council
There is also ample evidence of Perkin's discriminatory, offensive comments about LGBT people displayed at GLAAD's Commentator Accountability Project:

Please understand that I believe Face the Nation, in presenting debates of various topics, should include opposing points of view, including conervative commentators whose opinions may differ greatly from my own liberal/progressive perspective. However, there are responsible, honest conservative spokespeople that can take part in your program who do not represent an extremist right wing hate group such as the Family Research Council. Tony Perkins has a long record of extremist, offensive anti-gay positions and comments, and he should not appear on Face the Nation. Face the Nation should know better, and should do better.
Sincerely,

- Same two war mongers with the same old arguments, and of course, wrong once again! Is it possible for FTN to get a new perspective on any new subjects and some fresh new faces?

- Mr S continuously disappoints me in his allowing his liberal bias to determine his questions. He cannot call himself a journalist any longer - he is another publican relations hack for the Obama Press Agency. How sad. When you lose your journalistic integrity, then you should no longer be given the reporter's desk.

- This morning, January 27, Gingrich commented that the Newtown murderer got his guns legally (his mother did) implying that background checks may not help and in support of more to be done for mental health. I wish Bob would have countered with, "IF ASSULT WEAPONS HAD BEEN BANNED, HE WOULD NOT HAVE HAD EASY ACCESS TO THAT TYPE OF DEVASTATING WEAPON."

- Soooo glad to see Condi on TV again. America really needs to hear her commentary related to national security, policy, and what it takes for America to continue to succeed in modern times. Like General Amos said, "We better get the next 10 years right." There are so few news programs on that want to discuss the truth about current events, it amazes me.

- Former Senator Simpson and current Senator McConnell today (1/6/13) have both stated life expectancy in the US has risen 20 years since Social Security was enacted.
This fact didn't pass my gut check and I looked it up.
Life expectancy at birth is not the critical statistic. Life expectancy at 60 or 65 is the important statistic. In 1939-1941 life expectancy (for whites) at age 60 was 76, in 2004 it was 83.
This is a 7 year increase and not 20 years as claimed.
When politicians exaggerate facts it impugns their credibility. My respect for them has dropped a notch.
It's also up to the media to have a gut reaction to this type of hyperbole and challenge it. My respect for both MTP and FTN has also dropped. - Reply to this comment
- Well now to all you who disagree with the right to keep and bear arms. If you all really cared for children the way you say you do then how come you are not concerned with the 50 million babies that have been murdered by abortion. You guys are like the pot calling the kettle black. 20 children killed by a gun and 50 million killed by legalized murder. Instead of focusing on gun control we need to ask why do we continue to bombard our kids with violent TV shows and violent video games. If we are going to do away with our 2nd amendment rights then we need to do away with our first amendment rights also. Bob Scheifer you need to respect all people even the leader of the NRA. You showed him no respect and was very mean. I only ask for all of you who disagree with gun ownership to respect our rights to have one and quit saying you love and care for children when you really don't because if you did you would stand up to legalized murder, abortion that is. Regards, Brian
