- I am responding to your story about the gentleman who was a convicted felon and turned his life around. If you listen, despite his being in a single parent household, he had a successful experience in high school and received an athletic (football) scholarship to college which he left after one semester. I would suggest that his success later in life is a function of his earlier successes and not based on "the hope" that everyone can change. Only a select group of folks who are criminals (my experience as a forensic psychologist) suggests that only about 10% of criminals end up being as successful as this man later is life. Most end up under a bridge or living in penitentiaries the rest of their lives. Please don't succumb to the pollyannish notion that if given a chance they can succeed--hardly!

- Well done Ben Stein. I was concerned you're often conservative leaning views would prompt the denial of the harm the Republican, and especially Tea Party policies have wrought, particularly to both the debt debate in general, and to the debt ceiling argument. It was a brave and insightful commentary that assures me that you're more even handed than I initially recognized. Thanks for expressing a point of view that is shared by most rational Americans.

- Thank you for running the "Marraige New York Style"! I loved it! I am so impressed with CBS. CBS and its staff / management will be remembered for being a trail blazer. Same Sex Marraige will eventually be a Federal Law. I can see the light at the end of what has been a very long tunnel. CBS, you are a bunch of heros for Freedom and Equality for all!

- Love the story on marriage. It's funny how it hasn't changed in years, yet it has. The happy faces of the newlyweds hasn't changed in years. But Joel Grey's song during the marriages of the of the gay couples was what made me cry. People just want to be together and be loved. thank you for this story.

- Thanks for repeating the marriage segment. Simple but effective and sweet, I missed it last week.

- The story about the ex con was heart warming. I have never stopped to consider how an ex con could make such a significant impact on a community. It was inspirational and showed that if he can achieve his goals, everyone else can too! Well done to he & his wife, and to CBS for bringing us his story.

- I would also like to be able to share a video segment, or link to it, of this morning's piece on poverty with a colleague. Would you please make it available?

- The opinion piece about poverty presented by Travis Smiley this morning struck a chord with me this morning. This is an issue that needs more airtime and I hope that politicians and/or media giants will give this more attention in the near future. The imbalance between the extreme few who control our economy and the constantly growing portion of the population increase in poverty is alarming. Its like the elephant in the room. We all ignore it choosing to believe this will not affect us individually and ignoring the fact that it already does. The poor are indeed without any clout while the extreme wealthy have far more than their fair share.

Very interesting "Money Edition" today 26 June
Did anyone else notice the one thing in common with all the reports ?
Consumption - the basis of our Economy
We're no longer making things and selling them to others around the World
We're taking what money we do have and spending it on tickets to basketball games, buying shoes and clothes, eating at KFC, or 'investing' it in gold coins that sit in some desk drawer
That is IF we have anything left after we bought that yacht during the 'boom'. Ok, maybe it was just a 'bass boat' or 'jet ski' but same idea - toys and more toys
And sorry America - whoever dies with the most toys does not 'win'
.
We need to spend our money on 'things' that will make us money
Then spend THAT money 'wisely'
