I've never seen an explanation for the temperature changes in the period 1940-1975 ...

Probably just two more "deniers".

"Greenhouse gases, carbon dioxide being the most dominant."

The dominant greenhouse gas, taking into account its properties and the amount of it is ... water.

Someone pointed out that Sandy turned bad because it ran into a powerful front from the north, well could that not happen with the climate? Melting permafrost, glacial melt, el nino and other factors could all impact the planet in manner we humans haven't ever seen. We've never dumped so much greenhouse effect causing "trash" into the atmosphere as we have in the last 200 years. I guess the earth will remain flat

As long as we view global climate change as a problem that can be solved at some unspecified point in the future, it's unlikely that we'll do what's necessary to preserve the delicate balance of the earth's atmosphere. A NASA-funded study that was just released finds that we're on track for warming of 6-8 degrees F. by the end of this century. If this happens, it would devastate our human support systems. We'd better stop treating this issue as a political football and start listening to the climate scientists. This isn't about something that'll happen centuries from now; it's about your children and their children.

Oh really? Check yesterday's Wall Street Journal, page C4, "Can Medieval Heat Cool Warming Worries?"

Also, Antartic ice is greater than ever recorded, see: http://www.forbes.com/sites/jamestaylor/2012/09/19/antarctic-sea-ice-sets-another-record/

the earth is flat
the earth is only 5000 years old
and the earth is not experiencing climate change

If man is the cause for climate change, then prove to me what man did 10,00 years ago to cause the last ice age!

I don't know if "climate change" is real, but I will say this:

Pollution is said to worsen climate change.

Do we put value on companies that freely pollute, or do we put value on companies that clean up after themselves?

I was going to go into a lengthier response with more details, but I think the solution has already been hinted at, since people in our new normal prefer to discuss "value" over all else. It really does boil down to what we put value on, since value is a manmade concept. Right now we seem to be valuing greed and environmental erosion just for the prosperity of a handful, at everyone else's expense.

From the IPCC Third Assessment Report on Climate Change 2001 1st footnote from page 5 Summary for Policy Makers 1...

"Climate change in IPCC usage refers to any change in climate over time, whether due to natural variability or as a result of human activity. This usage differs from that in the Framework Convention on Climate Change, where climate change refers to a change of climate that is attributed directly or indirectly to human activity that alters the composition of the global atmosphere and that is in addition to natural climate variability observed over comparable time periods."

This should prove that the masterminds of the Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming Scheme know that carbon dioxide emitted from burning fossil fuels does not cause Global Warming. The IPCC is the Scientific Temple of the Global Warming Fraud and even their scientists had to hide in plain sight this disclaimer that they could not find any scientific factual statistical evidence that human activity has changed the earth's climate. They had to change their definition of Climate Change so they could still use it to mislead public opinion.

There was nothing scientific about the story and it was pure propaganda from CBS. I found it very ironic that the logo of the Sunday Morning program is the SUN. The only thing that warms our planet is the Sun, and it was never mentioned.
