- I am astonished that your reporting should take such a one-sided view of the issue that has mostly morphed into a political battle for control of people's lives. The United Kingdom's National Weather Service, known as the Met Office, quietly released a report in early October 2012 conceding that so-called "global warming" actually stopped more than 15 years ago. How about you report those that disagree with your conculsions?

- Has anybody thought about stabilizing human population growth? There have been, actually there are several groups I can think of, such as, ZPG _Zero Population Growth, NPG Negative Population Growth, CAPS - Californians for Population Stabilization, SUSP - Sierra Club United for Population Stablization, etc. Have these groups weighed in on the issue, and what do they have to say? Is CBS going to listen to what they have to say? Will CBS present their side of the issue?

- Ummm...maybe it's just me but how is interviewing 5 people that already believe global warming is caused by man prove anything? This just makes the skeptic in me more skeptical. I have an idea how about we interview the leading experts on both sides of the issue? Gee, you would think I'm a journalist for thinking up such a crazy idea. In any case here is a recent article stating how global temperatures stopped rising 16 years ago and well know scientist and global warming skeptic Dr. Roy Spencer's web site:

- I would like David Pogue to do a follow-up report on how other countries are NOT dealing with carbon fuels...China is the elephant in the room. If the US spends billions trying to convert to shaky technologies while China rolls merrily along with gas, coal etc. it seems like we will doom our economy even further. The Climate Change believers don't seem to care at all about all the people they will put out of work or that fuel prices will skyrocket. The XL Pipeline is a great example...if it doesn't come to the US, China will invest to have it go west in Canada and they will reap the rewards. How many of those wonderful(?) solar panels are being made in China, not the US, because their costs are so much lower? I learned of a company, HQ in Houston, that got subsidies from the US gov't, employed 30 people in the US and about 3000 making the solar panels in China. Some stimulus! Oh, and where did I learn about this? Sen. Charles Schumer's website.

- Mathion, time to evolve, cydygitt2, and other acolytes of Bill McKibben and his ilk are by far the immediate danger vis a vis "Global Warming", or when that fails the sniff test "Climate Change". I wonder if any of them has forsaken carbon based energy? Probably not. Something is always wrong with the world and obviously, someone else is to blame. Collectively they represent the same heard mentality that lead to the death of 6 million Jews and 50 million Russians. Can so called "deniers" be the next offering to the progressive gods?

- The solution is simple. Those who believe man's use of hydrocarbons are causing global warming should simply stop using them. No heat, no lights, no motor cars, not a single luxury...but they will keep the temperature from going up 1 degree over the next 100 years! Put all that anxiety to work and start picturing what life would be like without hydrocarbons then make some hard decisions and stop whining.

- Lets say all of you Chicken Littles are correct, what are you going to do about it? How are you going to get China, India, Russia and alike to reduce their "Greenhouse Gases". It does not matter what anyones says because each side won't trust the studies of the other so if Man Made Global Warming is real nothing will be done that could affect it and if it is just cyclical warming and cooling of the planet then so what. Less then two hundred years of measurements which many are subject to scrutiny, can not be depended on for a concrete conclusion, and trillions of dollars spent with no certain knowledge of what would be done could have any positive effect is foolish.

I am a scientist (geologist) and I back the 95% or so of scientists that know this is fact. So what if some people won't listen? Those people not only don't matter but they will be held accountable.

- "Is climate change real? Yes.
Is human activity contributing to it? Yes.
And is there anything we can do about it? Yes."
And the omitted question from the article:
Will the people of the planet unite and take action to prevent catastrophic consequences? Dudes! Everything will be fine . . . but only if you believe in reincarnation. - Reply to this comment
