- You can always count on Mr. Stein to come through "loud and clear" with a good dose of common sense...

- Really? Did Ben Stein just compare the murder rates in Chicago, LA, and DC to that of Northern Idaho? I was under the impression that Ben Stein was an intelligent individual.
The density population of these major cities are 5-10 times that of Sandpoint, ID. In a town of 1600 families having every family armed is not a threat because everyone knows one another. Its a completely different state of affairs in a major metropolitan city. The major cities have problems that would never exist in Sandpoint. They also have universities, museums and international airports. This is not a fair comparison when speaking of gun control.
Gun ownership is not allowed under the 2nd amendment unless part of a militia. Last I heard, an individual nor the NRA is not a militia. The 2nd Amendment was created to let the states defend themselves. It was never meant to be a person ownership/protection clause.
We will always have higher crime rates in major cities as we have higher sales of popcorn. The comparison is false and I would expect more from Ben Stein. If only we can all spend our time outside of the inner city and escape to the relative peace and tranquility of Northern Idaho. - Reply to this comment
