Antapologists have proven that the real Jews escaped to Southern Africa and are now known as the Pigmys. They are much shorter than the figure on the shroud so there; it's settled. The figure on the Shroud has to be Leonardo Da Vinci. Furthermore, if the Romans actually crucified millions of people on a cross where are all the crosses. They would've set them in Roman concrete to keep the victims from jumping off. So where are these crosses? The Romans had a library better than the Library of Congress. Everything that happened in the entire world was recorded There. Much of it was chiseled in Granite, especially the executions and other red letter events. Why no records from the Jews? Because the Jews didn't exist. Only Muslims lived in Palestine. Ask any Palestinian. So don't rely on the Catholic Church's history. That was made up at the Council of Trent in 489 AD. Instead take the advise of the scholars writing here or check the Koran like they do. In Conclusion, this sums up in a "nutshell" all the insight, wisdom and knowledge of the previous commentors. I believe the image on the Shroud of Turin is that of the last Knights Templar Grand Master, Jaques de Morley for the following reasons:

1. He was arrested and crusified by men acting on the orders of King Philip IV of France in 1307 by nailing him to a door in the Paris Temple.

2. 1 is verified because De Morley showed his wounds to a Papal inquiry into the Templars.

3. The imaage on the shroud is very similar to de Morley and clearly shows a middle aged man, de Morley was 60 at the time of his arrested and torture, Jesus was 33 when he was crusified.

4. There is no mention in the bible of an image on the shroud when Jusus's tombe was visited following his reserection.

5. Carbon dating puts the shroud at the right time.

6. De Morley's image could have been transferred to the shroud due to the chemicles in his blood brought on by his truma.

7. Geoffrey de Charney a Knight Templar was executed with de Morley in 1314.

8. The shroud went missing for 1,250 years with no verifiable evidence of its location until it was exibited in by the de Charney family in 1355.

9. The shroud could easily have passed to the de Charney following his execution.

10. At the time two bishops declaired the shroud a fake and ordered it to be taken of public display, but this was over ruled by Pope Clement VII.

11. There were many medevial fakes and copies made of holy relics. The copies were often laid on the origional to give them more credibility, thus all kinds of things could have been transferred to the real shroud.

12. The STRP also showed that the image could also be da Vinci, by compairing the face on the shroud with da Vinvi the found them to be a good match. Da Vinci was a scientist and may have produced the image, but if he did so modern science has failed to prove how he did it. Carbon dating also puts this idea at the right time.

The guy just ignores the issue of carbon dating, doesn't give any reason for it to have been carbon dated wrong, just 'believes' that it was - and then decides that because it doesn't look like some other art, it must be wrong?

And nearly everyone on this thread just accepts that? Talk about the suspension of disbelief!

The image cannot represent Yeshua because it is of a man of european heritage (Yapheth). Luke 3:36 records His human anscestry through Shem (Shemitic with intermarriage of Hamitic women, Tamar, Rahab and Bathsheba). Pauls' record to the Corinthians stated that "if a man have long hair, it is a shame to him?" and also Israelites did not have european DNA til they were driven from their Elohim promised land and settled in/around europe (the ashkinazi). The Roman church indoctrinated the world with their european Jesus. YESHUA, KING OF THE JEWS!

The "image" on the cloth appears rather tall which would have made the person taller than average for that region which would make it unnecessary for Judas to point out Yeshua by a sign, the kiss of betrayal. All he had to say to distinguish Yeshua from the disciples was, the tall, skinny, light skinned fellow with the long straight hair, who looks like the roman invaders.

88Ronin (modern intrepretation of Ronin is unemployed) says, "A good subtitle for such nonsense would be, "EXPLAINING THE UNKNOWABLE BY WAY OF THE INCOMPREHIENSIBLE."

Guess what, little unemployed grasshopper? I just finished reading the vaunted The Grand Design (I have a MSEE so I do understand what the book says) and the exact same words you use above can be used to describe the swill physicists would have us swallow. As for atheists, you offer nothing to anyone seeking to understand the world around us. Choose your poison. As for me, I choose to believe for I have known Christ in my life. I feel sorry for people like you: lonely and afraid because you are running from the truth.

Read: Jesus and the Eyewitnesses: The Gospels as Eyewitness Testimony
Richard Bauckham (Author)

Book Description
This momentous book argues that the four Gospels are closely based on the eyewitness testimony of those who personally knew Jesus. Noted scholar Richard Bauckham challenges the prevailing assumption that the accounts of Jesus circulated as anonymous community traditions, asserting instead that they were transmitted in the names of the original eyewitnesses. Bauckham draws on internal literary evidence, and recent developments in the understanding of oral tradition. Jesus and the Eyewitnesses also taps into the rich resources of modern study of memory, especially in cognitive psychology. Finally, Bauckham challenges readers to end the classic division between the historical Jesus and the Christ of faith, proposing instead the Jesus of testimony as presented by the Gospels.

Look at the facts. The injuries on the man fits the injuries which Jesus obtained. There are many other facts. Also, i ask you guys, how do you explain the image formation ? It is definitely Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the future King of the whole world.

It's laughable that this obvious hoax hasn't made it to the local land fill yet. Even the Vatican refuses to endorse it.

Hey, if you have time I'm selling the shroud of Burbank on eBay. It has the negative image of Bob Barker on it.

As a Christian, let me assume the Shroud is the shroud that was wrapped around the body of Christ during the three days following his crucifixion. Ok. It's still nothing but a piece of cloth! I worship the God of Abraham; the one who was, who is, and always will be, and his son - Jesus Christ, who sacrificed himself for all of us. I do not worship his clothes.
