- I caught 20 mins of the segment that apparently aired before the 1-on-1 interview with Anthony Mason in front of the live audience that then asked questions. But I can't seem to find that video anywhere on the CBS Sunday Morning site. Is there someplace where that part of the segment can still be viewed?

- This interveiw with Patti Smith was wonderful. She is just the most real and down to earth person. Truly genuine and warm. Even though the show was just an hour, it was the highlight of my day. Patti Smith embraces everything and I think that some of us could follow her example. I am glad that Patti Smith wrote her book (which I could read over and over) and that Robert is still with us. Thank you Patti! Looking forward to the new record in June.

- This was one of the most touching interviews I have seen in some time.
Patti was and is the Queen of Punk Poetry. To hear of the love and then hardships she had to endure at the end of the 90's was heart felt.
And then when she is most in need a shinning light came from a admirer stranger, Michael Stips, calling her to wish her a happy Valentine's Day. This recollection really touched my heart and made me see how special she was to him as an human and artist.
What a wonderful example of humanity, respect, kindness and love. - Reply to this comment

- big hit in '78? blazes, that's over 30 years ago. only those who are elderly or approaching being elderly would remember her. it's kind of like watching the elderly singers, groups, on pbs that were young in the late 50s into the 60s. when the camera pans the audience the elderly are seen singing along or dancing in the aisles as if it was the 50s and 60s. the singers look, well old.

- Great piece on the life and times of Patti Smith. I especially like to here her connection to Micheal Stipe. I just wanted to share a quick story. I was a student/ photographer in Athens, GA in the late 70's early 80's and remember Michel Stipe had asked me to dance at a local club and "Gloria" was playing. I say no. Crazy me, since my boyfriend was standing right next to me. I could tell it was clearing a favorite song of his and mine.
